Are thera any other RPG's with complicated (but good) dice rules? In Eon, a swedish RPG, there are somthing called "unlimited dice" which works as follows:
Let's say you have a skill level 16 in Climbing then, in order to succeed with an action you have to roll under 16 with you dice throw (depending on difficulty, 1-5 dices, 3 is "normal difficulty")
- If you roll 3 dice, and one gives 6 eyes, this is rerolled until no more dice shows a 6.
- If you roll 2 or more dice with 6 eyes then you have a risk of fumble, if you exceed you skill level after rolling the unlimited dices. (Resulting in failure as well as some extra punishment like getting tearing your backpack, dropping some items)
- If you roll all OR all but one dice with 1 eye, then you have a chance of perfect action if you roll under the skill level after finishing unlimited dices ( Resulting in you have a chance of leveling up that skill as well as some extra benefit, as maybe only using half as much energy)
