Possible Duplicate:
Can a 'Blade Barrier' turn?

the rulebook says that Blade Barrier can either be cast as a 'vertical curtain' or as a ringed wall. It doesn't explicitly state that the 'curtain' has to be in a straight line but it also doesn't say that the spell can be shaped somehow either.

So, the question is, can a Blade Barrier be cast so that it appears in a non-straight line, either as a curve or with angles?

Vertical doesn't necessarily mean straight. I fyou really want a difinitve answer go to Kobold Quarterly and submit this question to ask the Kobold. Just remember that the books are guidelines, not set in stone rules. Do what feels right in your game. But remember to be consisitant. Make a house rule and move on.

ver·ti·cal: being in a position or direction perpendicular to the plane of the horizon; upright; plumb.

I've always read this spell and all wall spells as a straight line following the flow of the ground or a circle as defined.
