What is the weirdest RPG ever created? Which RPG just left you scratching your head? And was it any good? I know such pearls as Maid the RPG, Killing Puppies for Satan, Bunnies and Burrows. But for some reason I think there might be something even weirder out there.

Hello and welcome to RPG.SE, gmkeros! This question's strongly on the subjective side, and I'm not sure it's possible to create a good definitive answer. Generally we try to avoid 'list' questions where the 'best' answer is purely subjective opinion. (I'm not casting a close-vote at this point, because there could be a solid good-subjective answer coming. It might be an idea to reword it and see if you can help make a good answer possible.) – Tynam Aug 28 '11 at 10:26

This would be a great question to kick off a discussion thread at RPGnet or your favourite roleplaying forum. StackExchange's format just isn't suited to discussions. – SevenSidedDie Aug 28 '11 at 16:27

Quite possibly Hybrid, the RPG with rules like these:

RULE # 11: PLAYER OR/AND CHARACTER HAS 1D6 OPTIONS TO WHAT TYPE OF UNIVERSE HE WANTS TO BE IN, IN TERMS OF HIS AND GOD'S CONTRIBUTION TO C#, FOR TOTAL COST OF C#, TO MAINTAIN THE CONSERVATION OF MASS & ENERGY, WHERE GOD'S CONTRIBUTION IS [5/6] FOR V # 5, WHILE GOD'S CONTRIBUTION IS [0/6]FOR VERSION # ZERO. HIS CONTRIBUTION TO C# IS THE REMAINING DIFFERENCE AFTER OR/AND BEFORE CONTRIBUTION BY GOD IN FORM OF YIN & YANG, BASED ON WHICH OF 1D6 UNIVERSE THAT HE WANTS TO BE IN, SETTING UP COST FOR C#, WHERE HIS CONTRIBUTION IS [1/6] IN VERSION # 5, TO TOTAL COST OF C#. CONTRIBUTION BY GOD IN FORM OF YIN & YANG IS ALSO IN PROPORTION TO VALUE OF EXPONENT FOR COM EQUATION FOR ADULT HUMAN FEMALES.

A distant second is Wraethulu, the RPG where you play androgynous sex-addicted superhumans.

Maid RPG is actually surprisingly playable. It has some excellent mechanics and is easy to learn. It's not the weirdest RPG by a long shot, but deserves an honourable mention for the optional rules that allow you to seduce other PCs.

I'm not sure Hybrid is the weirdest so much as the least coherent. But Wraethulu certainly gives Bliss Stage a run for it's strangeness-money. Except that I actually want to play Bliss Stage. – Tynam Aug 28 '11 at 10:27
Hybrid isn't least coherent. It's rather coherent, just wierd. You get to define the rule of the universe and then work down from there. Just because you are in a fantasy world, doesn't mean you have normal values for gravity :) – GMNoob Aug 28 '11 at 13:50

See, this is why the question is called out as "subjective and argumentative" – edgerunner Aug 28 '11 at 14:36
