I teach physics at Fullerton College, a community college in Southern California. I have an undergrad degree in math and physics from Berkeley and a PhD in physics from Yale. Back when I was doing research, my field was experimental low-energy nuclear physics.

comment What system increases skills based on skill use?
Wouldn't this system encourage players to spend a lot of time practicing their skills in situations where they didn't have anything to lose by failing? That might be realistic, but it doesn't seem like it would lead to good gameplay.
