comment When does Hoard of the Dragon Queen start?
if you look at the description for the lighting in Greenest it mentions a half moon.

Did you read the question? The explosives are written into the adventure.

comment When does Hoard of the Dragon Queen start?
In researching the question, official sources confirmed that the starting year is 1489 DR Year of the Warrior Princess. Based on this, and the moon phase indicated in the opening adventure I can tell you the year, and a small handfull of days of the month (7th, 8th, 22nd and 23rd), the only question is which month to start in. I was hoping for an answer that would look at the text for clues as to at least what season it was approximately.

comment Does “Pass Without Trace” enable a character to hide in plain sight?
@Besty that's the thing, it's not clear from the spell description whether or not it's fluff or mechanics. See the bit of burning hands that requires 2 free hands and thumbs.

comment 20 foot square versus a 20 foot circle on a battle mat
I'd point out that this method of determining distance is a departure from 5e's current only definition of grid distances (namely the movement rules). To the point on 4e, in 4e's geometry square's were circles so basically all spell effects in 4e were circular. Considering that, I fail to see how 3.5 geometry is somehow more expected than 4e geometry.

comment Can I True Polymorph a goblin into adamantine (and then forge him into a sword?)
@JeorMattan tbh, that's up the DM, True polymorph pretty much just says "you turn something into an object (or an object into something, or something into something else), and hey, if they don't want to, they get a save" and that's about it.

@JeorMattan at least right now, crafting just takes time and proficiency, not checks.

comment Does Clone spell makes someone effectively immortal?
@Lexible I'm saying we don't have a generalized idea of what level should have what amount of wealth yet. That's going to be a table in the DMG. Obviously that's not mandatory but it gives you some milestones to understand the context.

comment Can I use Fabricate to make a Keen weapon?
@OpaCitiZen but those don't yet include crafting magical items which they've said will be an optional rule in the DMG

@JohnEvans absitively-posilutely.

If you're aiming for efficiency, you could always wish that all goblins were adamantine.

And really, why adamantine at all when most creatures' resistance is removed with a magic weapon which boosts to-hit and damage. Sure it's possible, but by the time it is, it's basically completely pointless
