@PetrHudeček only if it's not already present. It takes 10 minutes to perform the ritual.

comment What happens when a creature falls on player-improvised spikes?
@DCShannon since we don't know the level involved, those items are impossible to determine. There are tables in the DMG that indicate the damage per level.

comment Shield Master - Can the shield push be taken before an attack?
@MagRoader the latter. Multi-attack is all part of a single attack action (you can shove, it just consumes an attack, so if you have 3 you can attack, shove, attack, and then still have your bonus action to shove again).

@JasonK anyone can shove as part of an attack action, that's already RAW. This power just lets you use an attack and a shove, or shove twice (or more).

comment Shield Master - Can the shield push be taken before an attack?
@Miniman the problem I see is that using shield push could invalidate your opportunity to take the attack action, which would be problematic.

@Miniman no, because it procs on taking the attack action.

comment Why would I ever cast True Strike?
I feel like your last reason is among the most important. If you know you're going to pop that L6/7 spell with an attack roll next turn, casting true strike as the set up is going to be a huge help

comment Can wizards have familiars without the use of the find familiar spell?
though the psuedodragon is in the PHB, so it's not totally out of line to wonder how a PC might obtain one.

comment How is counterspell a fair spell?
How do you get +6? You don't apply proficiency to this check.

comment How does concealment work?
the question then becomes 2 fold though. How well do you know the location of someone you can only hear, and second, can you just say "I stand really still" or do you have to make a stealth check?

comment How does concealment work?
I guess my point is that hidden is something you actively engage in (make a stealth check), and it requires an action. The sort of fundamental motivation of my questioning this is why should you have the benefits of hidden without paying the cost?

Melee and ranged aren't treated any differently by the rules on this. Where do you find a distinction in the rules?

comment Can you use a readied action to act on a different round?
p70 of the basic rules has the rules for readied actions "When you take a reaction, you can’t take another one until the start of your next turn. If the reaction interrupts another creature’s turn, that creature can continue its turn right after the reaction." reactions refresh at the start of each of your turns

@stphven have you looked at the feats yet? Polearm master and/or sentinel might be just your cup of tea

comment Can I “shove” with a reach weapon?
@DMNailz yeah, like I said, I'd be open to arguments, and the rules certainly leave it open. That said, shove is a contest of athletics vs acrobatics or athletics...which does leave it open, but seems to be brawn over brains. (a different contest for a similar effect may come into play on a feint)

comment How perceptive are trancing elves?
The reason I suggest unconscious is being used for sleep is that this is the condition the sleep spell imposes. (supported by the fact that the elf's trance is semiconsciousness)

comment Can PCs learn skill, proficiencies, or spells from other PCs?
should probably be worth noting that the trainer PC has to spend the downtime days training as well

comment Warforged resolve with reparation apparatus
@Mouhgouda powers that target allies do not target you unless they specify. The question you link to is for Legend, not D&D 4e.

@ElSuscriptorJusticiero yeah, that sums it up
