comment What mundane means can overcome Arcane Lock?
@mattdm unfortunately, rules like that are DMG material. Generally though, I would rule that a locked door is DC 10-15 to force open, and an otherwise unlocked door is DC 0. (a barred door being DC10-15, barred and locked DC 15-20 to force). Thus an increase in both the lock pick DC (From 10-15 -> 10-25) and open DC (0->10 or 15->25) makes sense. With picking the lock reducing the DC of forcing the door to 10/20.

@acbabis no it's not. They are two different action types.

@user15854 take a look at the question I linked, it's got an answer for you.

Which power? Not every power adds the modifier, and most add the whole one. If you're asking *how to calculate the modifier, then this question has the answers: rpg.stackexchange.com/q/37175/1084

comment What level of lifestyle do you have when living in the wild without practicing a profession?
@Chryckan Likely that's something to work out with your DM, it's not codified, but it is certainly possible. Likely the outcome would be similar, you'd eke out a poor existence (the costs of the furs you trap would offset the additional expenses of not spending all your time surviving) or a comfortable one (if you're trained in survival).

@Miniman means that the reference for a statement is the same as the previous.

comment Are cantrips spells?
@Miniman did do a quick edit, because they are L0 spells. I only popped in before heading to bed though :)

@Brian_Drozd edited to be more inclusive of all allowed lifestyles for practicing profession.

comment How can I assassinate someone and make it look like an accident?
@GAX those kinds of details definitely belong in the question, add a few sentences along those lines to an edit. Might also help if the DM gave you any specifics beyond the in character stuff.

If I missed anything when you revise your question could you shoot me a pint?

comment Do I Add my Dex Modifier to my Slayer's Power Strike Damage?
@doppelgreener ah, that was missing from the question. Withdrawn then. It is an attack, it's still extra damage though which is not a new damage roll and thus still doesn't get the dex mod again

comment Can a party function without a Cleric or Paladin?
@Gus one of the Fighter's L1 features is a power called "Second Wind" that lets them get d10+fighter level HP back as a bonus action and it recharges on a short rest.

comment Can a party function without a Cleric or Paladin?
@Khashir Not if I understand things correctly. A Cleric 1 should only be able to prepare L1 spells (and a Cleric 5 would only be able to prep up to L3 spells). I'll check my PHB when I get home though.

@Khashir I don't see why not. You might see diminishing returns at higher levels, but at low levels it should be fine.

@Khashir exactly, the only thing they really lose there is the capstone which is hard, but worth it to help the party

comment Is a Greatclub a club in regards to the Shillelagh spell?
@Chryckan at this point we're going to have to assume that the person who wrote the spell was in close consultation with their style guide etc. I'm using "fairly consistent" in the sense that so far I haven't seen a divergence from it.

@mattdm yes that's correct, a character with an 8 str would not be able to do it

comment How long does it take to try to break manacles?
I know 4e had a specific rule for certain checks where if you failed them, you couldn't try them again until the circumstances changed (this was specifically for things like breaking down a door, and a few others). I haven't seen anything like this in 5e yet though again that's the likely purview of the DMG.

@A.Zander seems reasonable to me. Lots to talk to your DM about!

comment What is the AC of an inanimate object?
@Miniman they have a Dex of 1 for a modifier of -5, my suggestion here is that an inanimate object has a dex of 0 for a modifier of -5.
