comment Can a free action occur within an immediate interrupt?
@DCShannon The question becomes what does the Barbarian's Winter Phoenix rage interrupt? My assumption in this answer is that it interrupts dropping to 0 HP. That's not the only thing it could interrupt though. Though if it interrupts the damage source, it could still mean the barbarian drops (And is just a lower amount of negative HP), if that's the case, then the free action would trigger. It's not clear what is interrupted.

@SevenSidedDie thanks, couldn't remember if we had an actual dupe or just the elf cantrip one.

How much of the DMG's custom magic item section have you read?

comment Can a character take Attacks of Opportunity while moving without stopping?
Could you map out how your envisioning this happen, maybe with bullet points? It's hard to picture how this exactly happens.

comment Riposte out of Reach
@Escoce there are no mechanics (except again, for specific monsters, the Roper is one I can think of right this second) so it'd be fully subject to GM adjudication and would be very case by case.

@TimB some monsters (things with tentacles say), can have their appendages attacked. General monsters attacking at reach though, not so much.

comment Is there an efficient way to make an interactive map?
Could you give us some more details about exactly what your looking for (perhaps summarize the cool features of the interactive atlas that you'd like to see in a custom piece of software).

comment Shield Master - Can the shield push be taken before an attack?
Without everyone who pops in having to wade through 10 pages of forum stuff, could you summarize the forum link into the key points of why the forumites speculate this to be the case (in support of Jeremy's tweet). The best guess I got from reading page 1 is simply that we're collectively overthinking action ordering in 5e, and if that's the case that's fine. But wondering if anyone later got a better gist.

comment How do the actions work out when sheathing/drawing weapon and then casting a spell?
@khada, only 1/turn either stowing or drawing. So you stow, but then can't draw again. That said mearls favors not really caring about this and I tend to agree.

@orkenstein for the other benefits of the feat? It's got 3 elements to it, adv on con saves to concentrate, perf somatic with a weapon/shield in your hands, and use spells for opportunity attacks

@orkenstein sorry, I clarified. You don't lose anything by only having 1 weapon out right now, thinking down the road already to if you take dual wielder.

comment Can Monks gain the benefit of the Dual Wielder Feat with their Unarmed Strikes?
@Tommy TWF feat removes that restriction. And that is the subject of this particular question. So my argument is essentially that, with that restriction removed, unarmed strikes should count for dual wielding considering that they are in the weapons table as a one handed weapon.

comment Can Vicious Mockery hit a target behind full cover?
@mag Yes. It has a target. This applies both to attack and save spells as the origin of area effects (almost always same spells) must not be behind total cover

comment Is teleporting out of a grab considered escaping it?
given that it happens literally before you escape, yes, it would have to. In the same way a fighter can beat on you before you escape. It's worth noting though that usually the ingame explanation is left to the players/DM. 4e has a very right adherence to the RAW so statements like "this is a case where commonsense overrides the rulebook" don't really compute in the system.

comment Is teleporting out of a grab considered escaping it?
This is an immediate interrupt, it's not an opportunity attack. if it was an opportunity action, it would not be triggered by a teleport. However, since it's an interrupt, the teleport triggers it, and then it happens before the teleport does (interrupt).

comment How would using the 3.5e rules for gestalt characters work in 5e?
rules for gestalt characters in 5e were alluded to have been in the DMG, but they didn't end up making the cut. We might eventually see them as an article on their site though. Obviously that's not helpful, but it does indicate that some thought has gone into porting the concept to 5e.

comment How much movement does a monk need to run up and stand on top of a 50-foot wall?
@rawling Running sideways is fairly easy to adjudicate (you either come back down before movement ends, dash to keep going and get where you need to or you end up falling when the move ends. Running up has the added quirk of getting up to the top.

comment How much movement does a monk need to run up and stand on top of a 50-foot wall?
@Javelin I doubt there'd be any need to climb, you'd basically be (at worst) moving into the space above momentarily, it should not be difficult, so I would not anticipate the need for a climb check. I mean if you have the ability to run up a wall....
