Realistic modern day combat system to model real life ambush I'd recommend GURPS Mass Combat for these sorts of large battles without modeling every single projectile and action. That said, if you want to model every single projectile and action, perhaps a computer-based simulation would be more to your liking. ;) |

What are the main differences between Call of Cthulhu and Trail of Cthulhu? I'd say ToC is much lighter than CoC. I found I didn't like the way the CoC rules worked on my initial read through. That's a personal preference though, so take it for what it is. Pelgrane also has some awesome conversion material on their site for various adventures: pelgranepress.com/site/?tag=download&cat=10#conversions. Overall, I'd say Trail is less rules-heavy than CoC, and that I prefer the way Trail handles the rules it has. That said, I think both systems compliment each other nicely. |

What are the main differences between Call of Cthulhu and Trail of Cthulhu? I'm no expert between CoC and Trail, but there is a conversion guide in the back of Trail of Cthulhu that starts with "Ignore STR, CON, SIZ, INT, POW, DEX, APP, and EDU.", so if that's any indication for you... ;) |

Water and electricity spells - RL physics approach Unless the caster has some immunity to electricity, I wouldn't want to be them if they unleashed a lightning ball underwater. If it's a room with water, again it depends on the mineral content of the water. A purified spring with no mineral content (magical water) might not have any effect at all, whereas a pool in a cave would have lots of dissolved minerals. And again, it would depend on the charge that the magic user would deal out and the position of the recipient. |
