comment How can I be paid as “just” a Roleplayer on Chatango?
It looks like you're trying to solicit such employment here, which is not appropriate. We're not for advertising, we're a Q&A network for practical problem solving - see our tour.

no, please don't publish your external contact details in your question. it comes off as advertising. put them in your profile if you want.

@daze413 Among many tables, metagaming is not seen as a bad thing, and in fact may be standard fare for play. We embrace that fact. Something seeming like metagaming is therefore not itself a problem.

@trekkieyk I've done some editing to try and better express some parts of this issue. Please check it over and see if you're OK with it, and edit further if you'd like.

@Lino Your comments appear to be going off track. I'll summarise what the question's about. Some argue you can voluntarily fail a saving throw. Usually, failing a saving throw against someone attacking you means worse stuff happens than if you succeeded. In cases such as the theoretical example given, failing is better than succeeding. Does this mean you can fail? (You seem to be arguing something like "well the monk could do something else instead," but this scenario's the example, so that's immaterial.) Now, let's stay on track.

I invite you to elaborate on the context and significance of this quote and connect the dots between that quote and "players can fail a saving throw if they want." A single brief quote intended for a very different context and participant (the DM), from a book the player might not even have, with a snappy "No worries" does not provide much clarity or enlightenment for newbies.
