comment Does Fate have precedents for mechanical inabilities/weaknesses?
@harlandski Oof, I'd entirely forgotten those existed! Maybe that's fine, though troubles tend to be provocative of things that will happen. Maybe "I can't read" is fine for a trouble.

Good aspects are supposed to offer a distinct benefit, and while I understand you've used this aspect for the sake of a finely pointed example, it is likely better form to choose an example that is beneficial but has its drawback in being unable to read. For example, "Shaman of the Southern Tribes", where the southern tribes are people the players agree don't generally care to learn to read - the player included.

@Erik Except that Pathfinder doesn't care about arrows to the gut, or anything to the gut, or vital organs in general. I'm not subscribing to an "arrows vanish into the air" policy. Go ahead and downvote if you don't find the reasoning in this answer sound.

@Erik That's how arrows work. Pathfinder's generally deferential to reality. It doesn't say anything much about what they do once they hit, except for a few vague words implying they can't be recycled.

comment Equivalent abilities?
I've removed your question about removing spellcasting from spellcasters. It's unrelated to the other, and should be asked separately in its own question. You can still retrieve its content in your revision history, which you can access by clicking the 'edited X time ago' link at the bottom center of your post.
