I'm working on Fate Looms, a tabletop simulator specifically for Fate.

Useful things:

  • Making the Tough Decisions: An author talks about how to work in harmony with your group as a player, based on things that should in hindsight have seemed obvious. Worth reading word for word. It's good enough it's the single piece of mandatory reading at my game table.

I have a free reroll.

staple post:

As this is a [tag:game-recommendation] question, please adhere to both the [FAQ] and the rules for subjective questions as outlined in [Good Subjective, Bad Subjective](http://blog.stackoverflow.com/2010/09/good-subjective-bad-subjective/) and on [our Meta](http://meta.rpg.stackexchange.com/a/1071/1204). In particular, all responses should be based on actual experience and contain references and examples whenever possible.

@WolfpawUK Is whether they should be constrained within the safe actually pertinent to the question you're trying to ask?

What part of this is them not playing in the spirit of the game? Is it actually the part where they suggest they're probably pretty well protected inside a safe?

comment Do I need to take turns outside of encounters?
@SeanDuggan You still haven't actually responded to the question. The question isn't asking about marching order - it's about whether exploration needs to be turn by turn outside combat: "I move 40 feet." "I move 30 feet," and so on. There's not a yes or no to that in here. Mxyzplk's comment is pretty helpful in this regard - add what he's suggesting and you have an actual yes or no.

This isn't answering the question of whether you need to use turns for exploration.

comment Is AC really as powerful as I think it is?
Answer the question independently of other answers. Stack Exchange doesn't very well handle follow-up answers that merely add useful info, but don't actually answer the question. If you need to, just summarise the answer briefly and link to another if you want to provide credit.

comment Day-to-day life of a Lich
It seems you've added the "how do I make a lich more believable" constraint, but it's still going to just elicit endless brainstorming as mxyzplk said. The constraint's also problematic: "more believable" than what? There's nothing inherently unbelievable about a Lich - at least, not moreso than fantasy stuff in general. Are you actually presently trying to portray a Lich and struggling to do so? In terms of just how to make a Lich believable, there's no single way to do it, just like there isn't with any person.

comment Exactly, what is an encounter?
Your answer needs to answer the question independently of others: I suggest you add a paragraph at the beginning mentioning what an encounter is.

comment Am I locked into zones being exactly as described, or can I change what they're a zone of?
4e powers would base themselves on things that actually exist, e.g. the keywords in a monster block. It does depend, but at that point the DM would be playing outside 4e's rules.
