Are there any benefits to being a small character? @Ananisapta That seems to be the end result of them, but you can still be a physically oriented character - a sword-and-shielder or dual-wielder won't be so heavily impacted by those restrictions; such a character would just be limited in their grabs and bullrushes and have their jump range slightly impacted. The limitations are a shame, but they're not necessarily a show-stopper. |

Are there guidelines for creating & customising MM3-style monsters? I'll borrow my friend's Rules Compendium and Monster Vault, and see if they contain guidelines. If so, I'll accept this answer. The Adventure Tools monster builder will be handy for actually creating the monster, but they will leave me none the wiser for actually designing a good MM3 monster! |

Would flying monsters ever land during combat? For readers: this is the podcast. High-level summary: a dragon should never land for combat. A proper dragon tactic would be to stay in the air at great distance, only returning once their breath weapon recharges, swooping in and roasting the players at range. Melee characters: useless. Rangers: plinking a few arrows won't do much. Magic users: probably not much better off. Making the party fly: won't be able to match a dragon. In summary: the PCs never stood a chance. |

Are 4e monsters compatible/level equivalent without adjustment in Gamma World? Just to make sure we're clear: In 4e, you get a bunch of healing surges, and you can only activate a second wind once per encounter, and a second wind uses one healing surges. Outside encounters, you can rest and use as many healing surges as you want. So in Gamma World, it sounds like you only get second winds, and don't get to use healing surges whilst resting? |

Are 4e monsters compatible/level equivalent without adjustment in Gamma World? "only 1 second wind" - do you mean one healing surge? Even in 4e you only ever have one second wind (per encounter, that is) - but you have plenty of healing surges. |
