Generating a feeling of nostalgia in the players I think it would be much better to do what @valadil suggested: a single, complete, one-shot in the past. Doing lots and lots of mini-flashbacks would be annoying, frustrating and definitely not poetic (you would likely break any suspension of disbelief). |

What are the differences between Vampire: The Masquerade first and second edition? Oh lol, they tried again the comics in later games, but they were at the beginning of the books, instead. |

What games are out there that could be played in a single night, with no prep? Oh, I noticed Paranoia had already been suggested: rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/3849/… Since your post is more elaborate, you could edit the other post before deleting yours. |

Are there rules for knocking a character unconscious without inflicting dramatic wounds? semi-OT: even if there isn't one, there should be, so the GM should have allowed you to do something like that. |

What are the major differences between Vampire: the Requiem and Vampire: the Masquerade? @aramis: no, I've got 2nd and 3rd edition and they both use the same difficulty mechanism. Unless I misread your post, of course. |
