Good Single Word Instruction for “Command” Spell I've seen "Swim" used on the Seaghost at the end of Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh to devastating effect. Serves the captain right for wearing chainmail onboard a ship. |

Good Single Word Instruction for “Command” Spell @Tynam - even if a PC knew it would the target? |

Good Single Word Instruction for “Command” Spell Question here would be a variant of "you say 'jump', he says 'how high'". Why wouldn't he be fulfilling this by just going up 30 feet? All things being equal wouldn't he meet the command trying to stay within the other constraints on him? Could have tried "cheat" mind.... |

AD&D (1e) Weapon Restrictions While XP penalities aren't official, page 86 of the DMG does say levelling up is at DMs discretion (so could be denied) and explicitly gives fairly major penalties in terms of training time and cost. |

AD&D (1e) Weapon Restrictions Ah, I'd forgotten the no XP caveat (which makes complete sense, the character is acting out of type) which would be supported by stuff the DMG says too. |

Why can't a Cleric use a sling? @DevSolar - I think that's it (or a combination of that and game balance). |

Why can't a Cleric use a sling? But a sling is a blunt object (or rather the bullet is). I'm guessing that the reasoning is that it's hard to pass off any ranged weapon as purely for self defence? |

Why can't a Cleric use a sling? I can see it now. Cleric hits and orc in the face with a mace and gasps "But, blood? What? How? I thought..." |
