I am a young gamer that, has only recently expanded into DMing. I have played board games and D&D with my father (Acedrummer_CLB ) and brothers for the last 8 years off and on and have been in several other gaming groups both 3.5 D&D and 4e.
I am trying to learn all I can about the hobby I have grown to love and hope that i can find help (or give it when the call arises)
side note: I am a little bit of a rule Nazi at times, bare with me this too shall pass.

Using Archer abilities with Swords since when dose a DM have to search the rules to find a good reason to ban the broken? If you think it will brake the game have him change it, add in proficiency restrictions if you like. You are the Game Master, Make the call you are most comfortable with. |

Does the Manifester Weapon allows a psionic character to have more power points than max? @ chaos: I have not encountered anything that says otherwise, I know that for healing that the terminology is always regain which is does not allow for over the maximum. I could not find the rules on Power Points, but it was more the wording of the item power, It trumps the normal ruling anyway. |

How to run a chess inspired D&D4E encounter? this sounds like a trap to me, not really a combat but more of an interactive puzzle/ trap that forces the players to use chess strategy to get across a room. |

Dealing with players who try to run from everything? well I have been talking to everyone in the party, and it seems that the whole adventure got off to a rocky start, I had each player tell me about their characters and why they would take up the call. the only person who had no clue how to answers was my "problem" player, after we worked out why the character was there he seemed to be more interested in the adventure and and the character is now invested in the story. thank you for the suggestions they were helpful. |

Measuring complexity in 4e characters? hum. Now I am going to really spend some time on this and see what i can do, I would start with action options per round then thous actions complexity, then move on to bonuses (static pluses) and then try to figure out all the extra abilities (the nit-naks picked up from feats and paragon paths and such). giving each a value and then adding it all together for a "complexity rating" for the character or build. It might be a vary time consuming proses. |

Dealing with players who try to run from everything? I am not sure if that is the actual reason why his character is the one that wont's to run, but it might be part of it he is playing a Drifter someone who looks out for number one. |

Dealing with players who try to run from everything? he always has his character, trying to get the party to run from the story, or go someplace else if he thinks they can't get through a situation or even a door. taking a vary defeatist view on the whole thing, something i have not encountered when i am a player with him in the party. |

Dealing with players who try to run from everything? It is really more about Someone who always has the character running from every thing than it is about dealing with the fact that he is my brother. |
