comment How reliable are dice rolling programs?
I agree with will find dice rollers more random then actual dice which [...] will be flawed but do keep in mind, that it is entirely possible to roll 5 1s in 8 rolls with real dice, which might not be possible in an app, because from my experience at least in video games, it is often desirable for the random number generators to provide a wide spectrum of results which have similar number of repeats.

comment Have any systems incorporated Avatar: The Last Airbender?
I am pretty sure someone has reskinned DnD 3.5 into Avatar world but can't find a link. I am sure I had the link from this SE though. I'll try to find it later today if no one posts it in the meantime.

comment How can I strategise IC with the other players when my PC is stupid?
@JackLesnie I disagree, I've always assumed that intelligence is the ability to solve new problems and come with new solutions, wherein wisdom is about knowledge and common sense.

comment Best answer for people concerned about RPG activities being occult or dangerous?
Please keep in mind that for many people this could be considered as condescending - if I were a parent being genuinely worried for my kid (even if said kid was 40 or so) this answer would not only fail to calm me, but it would also make me feel disappointed and sad. Don't settle for a 'best comeback' if the people you're talking to are worried about you.

comment Adapting Kafka's The Trial to a scenario
Time for some offtopic Knowledge! A professor from UNAULA has compared "The Trial" with Dostoyevsky's "Crime and Punishment" (Kafka was apparently a big fan of Fyodor) and decided that, among other things, the intended order of the chapters should be different - goo.gl/wZRdWp

comment Creating emotions
+1 for Tranquilstream and Backstabia, I just love creative naming in examples. I'd also note it's not easy to come up with convincing NPCs on the spot, so if you have a recurring NPC (even a shopkeeper) play that well, improve him in-between session and give him character.

comment How can GMs make their game worlds more inclusive?
If I understand correctly, the last part of your post basically means, that the only truly correct and right campaign is a quest for glory given by a good figure, where good people do good deeds and, should they stray from the path they, are severely punished. I can't find myself agreeing with this at all.

comment Making monks better but not broken
@KRyan In our case it was because we started playing in D&D, and just went on with it.

@KRyan Which does not make it impossible, difficult or unenjoyable to play however you want. I've run an almost two year long campaign in D&D 3.5, and we had maybe one fight per 2-3 hours of gameplay and rarely rolled at all. Well, I guess you just end up playing a mostly systemless game.

comment How to Format a DM's Notebook for an Open World Game
I demand answers which actually talk about formatting an offline notebook! You know, this thing where you need to use a pen to write with ink?
