@KRyan Which does not make it impossible, difficult or unenjoyable to play however you want. I've run an almost two year long campaign in D&D 3.5, and we had maybe one fight per 2-3 hours of gameplay and rarely rolled at all. Well, I guess you just end up playing a mostly systemless game.

comment How to Format a DM's Notebook for an Open World Game
I demand answers which actually talk about formatting an offline notebook! You know, this thing where you need to use a pen to write with ink?

comment Where to find recordings of serious Fate Core campaigns?
I've clarified - I've been thinking about video recordings specifically. Funny that my youtubeing only gave me gazillion of 'how to play' and 'review' videos. My Youtube-fu must be low today.

+1 for linking to this great article. Someone should make a list of the must-read articles for any RPG player.

So, is anyone but me getting a Bit Defender warning about Geek Social Fallacies link? (marked as website containing dangeround malware)

comment Why do my players want to be superman in Dresden Files?
But it is also mentioned in the question, that in the previous two campaigns, the players followed similar tropes with their characters which can indicate that they don't realize (or don't want to) expect other things from a game.

Your players might just be saying, "We want to solve our problems by tearing them apart with our bare hands!" My only comment is that players might not realise it is possible to play any different, they might be applying the logic used in almost all computer games - the stronger the better. Because, frankly, how many computer RPGs really encourage you to not be as strong as possible?

comment What is a good way to get regular people interested in D&D?
One answer to rule them all, one answer to find them all, one answer to bring them all and in the darkness surpass them. This is the best answer ever.
