I’m a thirtysomething dad and IT professional living in the Austin, TX area. I started gaming way back in the day, 1982, with the TSR space opera game Star Frontiers. Since then I've been an avid roleplayer. I went to 5 Gen Cons, was a regional Triad for the RPGA's Living Greyhawk campaign, helped start a gaming club (the FORGE) in Memphis, TN, et cetera.

I GM and play a variety of RPGs; currently Pathfinder is in heavy rotation as well as various non-D&D-based games.

comment Why are curative spells referred to as necromancy?
Maybe so. After the first corebooks I was out.

comment Help finding D&D coin look-alike monster
There's a similar monster from the 1e Fiend Folio called the goldbug, but it doesn't have the extraplanar stinger. It's just a poisonous beetle that impersonates a gold piece.

comment Is there a known reason for drakes not being in the 5th edition compendium?
@CrystalBlue the mods think this is a fine answer and that you got bullied into self-deletion. We encourage you to restore it and we'll chime in to shoo the flies off.

comment How do “the masses” address clerics/paladins & other members of the clergy?
Sorry man, still not answerable because there's not one answer. It varies by faith. If you call a Presbyterian pastor "Father" he's not going to take it well. Similarly in the fantasy world of Greyhawk there's not a single answer.

comment What's the price of scabbards lined with lead?
Because that's super unusual custom work, and you want the lining to be made to exact "I want to still have kids someday" specifications - thick enough, no seams or cracks even after repeated use, etc. It's why even just those lead lined aprons they put on you at the dentist cost $200 or so when lead is still $1/lb cheap today.

comment What does Assassinate mean by “surprised”, and can it be used multiple times?
I'm not sure bringing in 3e/4e interpretation is valid because bringing in a 1e/2e interpretation would mean the exact opposite.
