I’m a thirtysomething dad and IT professional living in the Austin, TX area. I started gaming way back in the day, 1982, with the TSR space opera game Star Frontiers. Since then I've been an avid roleplayer. I went to 5 Gen Cons, was a regional Triad for the RPGA's Living Greyhawk campaign, helped start a gaming club (the FORGE) in Memphis, TN, et cetera.
I GM and play a variety of RPGs; currently Pathfinder is in heavy rotation as well as various non-D&D-based games.

Vast and expanded realistic combat system One other critique of TRoS is that the combat system is very, very much written for one-on-one combat, and group-on-group combat is very hacky ("you need to break it down to one on one" is the usual advice). |

What's a good defense against silence? #2 is "the silent spell feat" and #4 won't work as wands and staves are spell completion items which require verbal. |

What are the different PC languages for 2nd edition AD&D? Although I will note that depending on your race, there are certain prescribed choices. But if you're human, it's "whatever languages your DM says there are." Weirdly there is a bit of a shared D&D world, because if you're an elf for example the bonus languages you can pick are set to a specific list of "orc, etc..." |

Is it possible to mix different versions of AD&D? Please be more specific with your question. There is are many old versions of Dungeons & Dragons, and the one usually known as "original" D&D looks to not be the one you're asking about. I assume you are asking "Is it possible to mix Advanced Dungeons & Dragons First Edition and Second Edition?" from the context of your other questions.
