I thought you wanted "simpler."

So what about this question isn't answered by rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/792/… - there are solo RPGs. You're asking us to refute "something unclear someone said somewhere on the internet."

I disagree with the statement that it "nerfs warriors" - swinginess does favor monsters but monsters attack everyone. At worst this makes the game a little more dangerous esp. wrt full attacks.

Who makes this claim? Why are you asking? What do you intend to get out of this question? Why do you care what the initial unidentified "someones" or indeed any citations in an answer to this question say?

You should ask about whatever problem you're really trying to solve instead of this "prove to me" question - this answer is really the only legit one the way it currently stands.

Roll the confirmation, add the numbers, anything that confirms crits.

comment Looking for RPGs without character-classes
Think about your actual problem and then explain it to us. Are you looking for a game like this to run (in which case I bet you/your players have a lot more specific requirements than "whatever")? Or are you wanting to understand how character progression works without classes from a game design standpoint?

Also, warn the players about this aspect of the campaign concept up front so that they will take (or know it's unwise to not take) Craft skills and item creation feats.

comment Are there any RPGs that realistically prioritize speed and reach in melee?
Yeah, closed as too broad - a pretty long list of games, mostly older, did this. Even 1e AD&D had weapon length, space required, speed factor, and more, see panzerleader.wordpress.com/2012/01/25/…. That kind of design has fallen out of currency.

a) is already handled by the other linked questions and so the scope of this question needs to be constrained to b).
