I’m a thirtysomething dad and IT professional living in the Austin, TX area. I started gaming way back in the day, 1982, with the TSR space opera game Star Frontiers. Since then I've been an avid roleplayer. I went to 5 Gen Cons, was a regional Triad for the RPGA's Living Greyhawk campaign, helped start a gaming club (the FORGE) in Memphis, TN, et cetera.

I GM and play a variety of RPGs; currently Pathfinder is in heavy rotation as well as various non-D&D-based games.

This is a good point for groups where not all of them are murder mavens - like here in the US, if just one of your gang of robbers kills someone, you're still up for murder 1 during the commission of a felony... Guilt by association could provide peer pressure. I like this better as an answer to my "murderous cretins" question actually.

comment Would a mounted character work well in the Jade Regent adventure path?
Update: I am playing a mounted samurai and it's working out OK, though I don't get to use my mount much. Character sheets and session summaries for those interested: geek-related.com/session-summaries/jade-regent

I'm already getting flags on this Q - also consider narrowing your request using the guidance in that post; there's a lot of connected sets of low level modules out there - what specifically would you like them to be like/accomplish? Game world? Game type?

Please answer this question following the site guidance on game-rec questions - "you could do this, I suppose" is wrong, "I have done this and here's what I did" is right. meta.rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/1070/… Expect to be downvoted if your answer does not include personal experience or a relevant reference.

comment Do all conjuration (teleportation) spells end your turn?
What is a "simple action?" And if you mean standard action, well you have to use an action to act right? Do you mean that basically they'd get a move action?

comment What point-buy systems of magic (like psionics in 3e D&D) are there?
Hey man. You may not know this, but there are literally hundreds of point based spellcasting systems in the thousands of extant RPGs. So asking for them and balance issues with them is a "write a book" kind of question. Probably needs to be scoped down somehow. Also, meta question: meta.rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/1475/…

Now that this is scoped to D&D, I think it's answerable. Reopened.

Correct, only you, unless they have the feat or you have the Inquisitor ability to let your allies benefit from your tactical feats (the only case in which they are worth taking a feat, IMO).

I agree, as system-agnostic there won't be a meaningful answer beyond general platitudes "tough... But not too tough!".

comment Does the 2nd printing of Deities and Demigods have Cthulhu?
That's right - the second printing also removed the Melnibonean (Moorcock's Elric) mythos along with the Cthulhu mythos.
