I’m a thirtysomething dad and IT professional living in the Austin, TX area. I started gaming way back in the day, 1982, with the TSR space opera game Star Frontiers. Since then I've been an avid roleplayer. I went to 5 Gen Cons, was a regional Triad for the RPGA's Living Greyhawk campaign, helped start a gaming club (the FORGE) in Memphis, TN, et cetera.

I GM and play a variety of RPGs; currently Pathfinder is in heavy rotation as well as various non-D&D-based games.

@KRyan yeah, but from reading about their group I'm not sure that "a magic device stopping them from killing each other and/or important NPCs" may not be merited on some level.

+1 this. Clearly this gaming group is not at the "let's define a social contract and define the limits of Rule 0" level, they are at the Looney Tunes level. Suggest you try to get you/your GM to start more where some of the "how to play an RPG" questions on this site start - watch some Actual Play videos, etc.

As this is a product recommendation question, please adhere to both the FAQ and the rules for subjective questions as outlined in Good Subjective, Bad Subjective. In particular, all responses should be based on actual experience and contain references and examples whenever possible.

Oh sure, it doesn't have to peter out, but usually you can wrap up the story and be done with natural closure.

Related if you want all the short adventures to just be part of one campaign: rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/22782/… and rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/22584/…

Yes I did, we use that tag for any "*-recommendation" question as they all go by the same rules, see meta for more. No sense having "adventure-recommendation" and "supplement-recommendation" and "whatever-recommendation." Feel free and liven up that meta discussion though.

Putting this on hold for a moment. @Ren, Paizo (and others) have published literally hundreds of adventures for Pathfinder that could take a group 5-10 hours to play. Please add more details to your question that would focus it down to where there might be a best answer.
