I’m a thirtysomething dad and IT professional living in the Austin, TX area. I started gaming way back in the day, 1982, with the TSR space opera game Star Frontiers. Since then I've been an avid roleplayer. I went to 5 Gen Cons, was a regional Triad for the RPGA's Living Greyhawk campaign, helped start a gaming club (the FORGE) in Memphis, TN, et cetera.

I GM and play a variety of RPGs; currently Pathfinder is in heavy rotation as well as various non-D&D-based games.

Proactively protected. No "monk sucks/doesn't suck" warring or handwringing over newness of 5e will be tolerated. Answer using normal site Good Subjective, Bad Subjective rules. If that means an answer isn't possible yet because no one has had real play-time with the 5e monk, fine, if it is, fine.

Reading the link under "Gunsmithing" provided should adequately explain what the question is asking.

No reason to believe cold iron is different. Per d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/weapons/firearms a normal bullet costs 1 gp and an adamantine bullet 61 gp, using the standard +60gp per missile cost for adamantine ammo per d20pfsrd.com/equipment---final/special-materials#TOC-Adamantine. Should be able to apply to any of the materials that can be used for ammo, so a cold iron bullet that costs "double normal" would be valued at 2 gp, and cost .2 gp for a gunsmith to make.

Aside from the usual suspects telling you "don't play a monk," I suspect that a combination of rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/13/optimizing-a-dd-3-5-monk and rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/26977/… give you what you need.

comment Free RPGs that work well on forums
Hey man, a bunch of games can possibly fulfill these requirements, they're still quite broad (as you can see from the one answer). You may want to look at the play-by-post and online-roleplaying tags for general investigation; much of what you're asking for is more technique and not an attribute of a system per se. People forum-RP with just about every game system.

Have you read the 5e rules? It kinda sounds like not and thus naturally all the terms people are using at you are confusing.

Yes, OD&D is the bare rudiments of the hobby - it's got a lot of the same general feel and words (wizard casts fireball!) but is pretty different from everything else rule-wise.
