comment Introducing new players to GURPS
the point values are still consistent (they're at the same point value as if they had bought it off of their own accord), the only difference is that they don't get the usual choice. (Or, to spin it the other way, the player's RP actions are dictating where they can spend those points). And the inherent penalty associated with buying off disads should discourage the second problem (it's "more cool" to spend points on more toys rather than buying off disadvantages). But it definitely is a YMMV issue.

comment Do players get full XP from encounter if enemies break and run?
The only time I could think I wouldn't give full XP is if you needed something/someone who ran away. (If the goal was to capture Bob The Terrible and you let him get away, for instance).

Obvious suggestion - redirect reward points towards paying off the unused disadvantages. (This presumes that the player is actively trying to dodge his disadvantage for free build points rather that just disliking the disadvantage). Best part is that you're not actively penalizing them (in the end it's the same as them deciding to buy off the disadvantage themselves), but it still gets the point across.

comment What games exist with a focus on travelling between alternate universes?
Also, even if you don't want/like the Alternate Earths theme, GURPS is well suited for a homegrown alternate universe campaign, since you can plug... well pretty much anything into it.

comment GM confusion: The n-dimensions of Clerics. Or: The nightmare of errata
Whether it's update or errata, it's still annoying to print off the new level and find out that your powers have been whiffed while you weren't looking. :(

comment In D&D 4e What does a letter inside of brackets mean for a hit effect of an attack power?
Another odd case that I had forgotten - Beastmaster Rangers have powers that use [B] instead of [W] - those refer to the beast's damage figure. Pretty sure there's no other letters at work beyond that.

comment When do you reach a 'milestone'?
I believe there's some caveats that a DM can rule that particularly easy encounters don't count towards a milestone (or contrarywise, a particularly hard encounter can count as it's own milestone), but both options seemed a bit.. weaselly to me (as in, you probably should just fix your encounter difficulties).

comment Can I play an effective pacifist in D&D 4e?
+1 for Pacifist Cleric. I play it, and you can easily go through a combat without dealing a single point of damage. You buff, heal, and attack enemies by debuffing them (so your allies can hit easily and do extra damage hopefully). The two concerns are: you are shorting the party a damage-dealer, so the party has to make up that aspect. And it's not the flashy style of play, so some players find it very boring.

comment Character wealth by level for 4E?
If you spend your cash properly, you can get multiple common items on top of your three built-in selections, you can easily end up with five or six magic items. Add the fact that they're guaranteed to be exactly what the character needs, and the balance is better than you think.

comment Is it possible to mix different versions of AD&D?
+1 for choosing a reference edition - you can always translate mechanics, monsters, and items from one edition to the other. But you need to pick what you're translating into. :)

comment Which 4e books are made obsolete by Essentials releases?
I would +1 solely for the point that the errata is far more an issue for the older books than Essentials.

comment In D&D 4E, Changelings can keep other forms when sleeping?
Another hint is that there's no sustain entry, which implies that the Changeling doesn't have to put any effort into holding a form, only to change it.

comment What is the point of a spell component pouch?
Eschew Materials does have an in-game use, however: if someone takes your spell components away, you can't cast M spells. (I've never cared about the specific components, though.)
