Is buying game ebooks practical? I can't speak for the kindle, but I've got a few PDFs on my iPad and it works reasonably well for me. Searchability is a huge plus. |

In D&D 4e What does a letter inside of brackets mean for a hit effect of an attack power? Corner case that confuses the locals: if you're using a weapon that rolls multiple dice normally (like a Falchion that does 2d4 damage), an attack that does 2W will do 4d4 damage. (Or 2x2d4) |

What can I learn from playtesters? @Graham - I think that both questions need to be examined: are the regular players having fun, and are the power-gamers finding holes to exploit? |

Why do Combat encounters and Skill checks give the same XP reward? Another reason is to encourage/reward players for taking those non-combat skills and using them in-play. (3E suffered because while you could be awesome out of combat, it did little for you in hard XP. The only exceptions were when you could find a loophole to abuse, such as crazy-high Diplomacy.) |

Will magic items with raw stats break game balance in DnD4e? Not detailed enough to be a proper answer, but if you're doing this in isolation (just your group, no plans to bring in outsiders or export the characters to another group), it'll just be a matter of boosting the monsters to balance things out. |
