revised How does Compelling your own Aspects work?
Made it more obvious that you suggest the Compel and get the Fate point.

@MarcDingena - One last try, and I'll delete if not, but the negative uses were actual uses that came up during play. That's the how.

comment How does Compelling your own Aspects work?
@Eric - The negative use is compelling your own aspects. I was including the positive use as a contrast.

@Erik why not? It's what he asked for, i.e. Can someone elaborate how Compelling your own Aspects work?

@KennifusPrime - As we're not supposed to answer in comments, I've distilled the answer into an actual answer. Take a look and see if it summarizes it well.

@SevenSidedDie - That particular reference was based on the fact that the symbolic link has to be freshly taken from the target by RAW. See YS261. There's no indication in RAW that you can't search for objects (a corpse), rather than people. Harry's Tracking Spell has that limitation, but not "Solve Improbable or Impossible Problems", YS263.

Look at Geoffrey Chaucer in A Knight's Tale. Patents, lineage, etc was visited in that particular movie.

comment Simple, classless system for normals exploring ruins of ancient high fantasy world
@SevenSidedDie - PCs are adepts still- that is the default for the setting. And in order to be an adept, as I stated in the comment above, you choose a discipline.

Actually, it is out. Not sure if it's for sale on the site, but backers have both hard and digital copies. And disciplines are definitely not optional. From ED4 p.58 - "The first step in creating an Earthdawn character is to choose that character’s Discipline. This is the most important decision you will make about your character, for a Discipline is much more than a character’s profession; it is a way of life."

comment What better not to use Fate Core for?
@thedarkwanderer - It's close enough for the purposes of this argument. There were very minimal changes made between Fate 3.0 and Fate Core. And in fact, my DFRPG game in the end is played with Fate Core and those few changes for veterans, so not really an applicable dismissal.
