How do I increase resistance to drain? I'll have a look. I think there are certain items that can serve that function. (I may be confusing the magic systems for Mage and SR though, so I will double check that.) |

Techniques for speeding up a game with many players at the table? Another option I thought of (besides having PCvsPC duels or whatever) is co-opting some players to assist you by running NPCs and/or divvying up combat allocations so that you could get more than one player acting. Say, have one other player whose character isn't currently acting, take on one of the opponents so that two players going at same initiatve can both toss dice at the same time. |

Playing on IRC, getting started I'll have a look around, many channels are still listed for IRC but are actually dead. I'll get back to you on this, if someone doesn't beat me to the punch. |

Any mechanics out there for developing and maintaining a spy/information network? Adriano: Ah I see. How it works is the characters go through a life-path with each choice influenceing what happens next as well as establishing the relationships with other chracters and NPCs. At the end of the process you have a mind-map grid with the connections between characters. Using this would give you the relationships within the network's NPCs as well as with the PCs. You rescued X's daughter, now you get a bonus with a check to get info from X. |

Does No-Key the Mushroom King appear in any Exalted 2nd Ed Sourcebooks? So I see. Are your answers junior-black-holes-in-training then? ;) |

Any news about a Malazan RPG? The information about the GURPS Campaign is in Steven Erikson's introduction to Gardens of the Moon Redux edition. He also mentions something in the foreword to Esslemont's Night of Knives, iirc. |

Out-Of-Control Characters I think a warning is also the best way to go. Take the player aside and tell them that their actions are disruptive to the game. This way they don't feel like they are being attacked in front of their friends and it gives them a chance to correct it. |

What game system is best suited for running a campaign based on EVE Online? GURPS is a good option. I have not looked at 4th Edition, but 3rd is quite close. David Pulver's Vehicles will provide a detail level for ship creation and customization similar to what EVE offers. There's also the advanced combat rules in the Basic Set and Compendium 2 that allow for advanced ship combat. GURPS Biotech, Ultratech, Transhuman Space and Cyberpunk all have options for the cloning and mental imaging themes. You might also consider pulling some combat rules from games like Battlefleet Gothic or Warhammer 40k. The Hex-based advanced combat from GURPS is a good one as well. |
