comment Wizard minor conjuration ability interpretation
I'm not sure I agree with this definition of "any damage." I don't see that supported by the wording of the ability, and I don't see any reason to think it isn't identical to "takes 1 hit point of damage." Different phrasing does not necessarily imply different function. Conjuring a bottle or wine skin -- both of which have stoppers -- or conjuring a weapon or tool (sword, mace, wood axe, saw, rope) and using it seems to be within the intended scope of the ability, yet they involve either objects with multiple parts or objects which (in our world) endure wear and tear through normal use.

comment What do I do when no rules cover what players improvise, and I don't know from real life?
Note that you will occasionally get players who argue with you about how you decide to rule these arbitrary things. That's ok. Listen to what they say and if it makes sense you can make changes. You're all agreeing on making things up, after all. However, you're not always going to agree, either. When you decide not to listen to them (e.g., for story reasons it can't go that way), just say, "I'm sorry, but this is what happens." If they still have a problem with it, tell them you can discuss it more at the end of the session but your ruling is final.

comment Where do I find the saving throws matrix for monsters in AD&D
@SevenSidedDie My favorite example is in the 1E PHB. There's a footnote on page 25 under "Fighters’, Paladins’, & Rangers’ attacks per melee round table" that says vs 1HD creatures those classes get 1 attack per character level. It directs you to the Combat chapter, but I've never been able to find the actual cross reference!

comment Can a Gelatinous Cube be knocked prone?
@Cthos I'd disagree with Force Bomb being broken. It's a touch attack, so your touch AC is your save. It deals the same damage as a Magic Missile until at least level 11. The splash damage grants a save and deals an irrelevant amount of damage anyhow. Even if you're hit, you get a save to avoid being knocked prone. If this were a spell, it would be 2nd level tops, and you can't get it until 8th level.

comment How the heck does magical darkness work in Pathfinder?
The best way to think about it is to assume that magical darkness isn't so much the absence of light, but actual anti-light. So the spell causes an object to radiate waves that actively consume the light. When you cast the spell, it draws the darkness from the ambient area and magnifies it into the magical anti-light. Adding more normal light simply gives the darkess more to "feed" on, rather than destroying it. Since it's magical anti-light, it can consume a limitless amount of normal light. You need magical light to actually destroy the anti-light.

comment Devourer and negative levels
This is just a case of the exception proving the general rule. In general, negative levels stack. It will be explicitly noted when they don't, such as with the Devourer.

comment Magus Cast then Move then Attack Legality
Actually, the FAQ cited by Kyle Willey explicitly notes you can cast, move, and attack "just like casting a touch spell". All Spellstrike allows you to do is cast through the weapon. Everything else is core rules.
