Who created the idea of Experience Points? Speaking of chess, Elo System is some kind of "experience point" system as well, except for actual human players instead of game avatars; and it has been around since at least 1960 according to Wikipedia (and there are even older rating systems). |

Who created the idea of Experience Points? @Jared: I suspect maybe you had difficulty distinguishing which one refers to "a flat recognition of achievement" and which one refers to "a currency of achievement" because in the end it turns out that "a flat recognition of achievement" == "a currency of achievement". |
