This is certainly an excellent write-up. I'll forward it on to my player. If you can think of any more specific edges (not necessarily core) that we could use for inspiration, I would appreciate it.

Actually, I'm the GM. It's a roll your own setting, and the group reviews, tweaks, and approves new edges. There's usually a lot of arguing about balance :). The players only have a few, if any, of the setting books. While I have a few more, there are so many out there, both published and home-brewed, that I was looking to see if anybody might know of some we could use.

So, your suggestion seems to be to use Awareness or Search to uncover 'potential' clues, then use one of Chem-use, Lores, etc to understand the specific details of the potential clues. BTW: Your write-up makes much more sense than the investigation section in DH. Makes me glad that my character just shoots things :)

comment What are the advantages and disadvantages of allowing a player to play a large creature?
The large weapon thing can also be a hindrance. Few published adventures include treasure for Large+ or Small- races. Changing the treasure loadout (especially arms and armor) makes it quite obvious to the other players. Plus, I'd ask the other players.
