Forced/involuntary movement and OAs While the rules say it doesn't provoke an Opportunity Attack, there's nothing preventing a house rule. Personally, I think think it (situationally) makes sense. Falling? Probably not. Pushed past a monster? Probably. Pulled away from a monster? Probably not. |

Weapon that does 5 damage vs. one that does 1d10 damage: What characteristic of the weapons causes this difference? I don't see that as the point of the question. The question is not a matter of how much randomness, but rather what causes an ability to either have or not have randomness. It's not a matter of scale, it's a matter of existence. And my answer is that realistically, everything should have a random aspect to it, but for purposes of speeding up gameplay, sometimes we just let the randomness be the attack roll and never change the damage. |

Speed up campaign development I anticipate unicorns, and monkeys dancing on the bar, and, I'm not kidding, a poop monster in the city sewer. My wife has explicitly mentioned each of these as potential elements she would put in if she were running it. Maybe I can compromise by allowing the unicorns, and a handle animal spell? :-) I see what you're saying though - have a beginning, an end, and let them fill in the middle. |

Speed up campaign development So it might be a good thing that I don't have much time to prepare? I mean, what I'm doing right now is just presenting a problem, and then thinking of a couple ways --I-- might solve it, and preparing for those. Maybe by just introducing the problem, I can come up with a couple generic challenges, maybe some puzzles (funny, they ALWAYS end up on the wrong side of a magic door, how unfortunate...) and letting them determine how they get there... I like it! |

Where can I find a couple “wife-friendly” adventures? I'm accepting this as my answer mainly because my wife made an Eldarin Wizard, and switched to an Elf Sorcerer. Then my friend's wife made a Deva Wizard. So I laughed pretty heartily! On point, those mechanics you mentioned seem like I could glean some good concepts off them. Thanks! |

Information about a solstice - what skill to challenge? Hmm.. I like all the responses people have provided, but I really like #2. I imagine a decent clue would be a rich merchant or noble in town who knows the solstice is approaching and would like a little extra protection, or a mercenary who has been hired as such. I think that's what I'm going to go with. Thanks! |

Information about a solstice - what skill to challenge? I suppose it makes sense that the solstice could cause more magical energy, so arcana would be reasonable. I suppose it could qualify for significant events, but I would question the connection between knowing there is a solstice and making the connection that it's only 3 days away. |
