I he's the type who doesn't like to read much, I'd recommend watching some Let's Plays of Dungeon World. This series is pretty good&fun: youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-oTJHKXHicRNYOc9unj3D1GMzjz_i6V2

@Realdeo Monster Vault is another 4E book, an updated Monster Manual. No 4E resources are legally available for free, as far as I know.

@Realdeo When rolling for a weapon attack, you add several modifiers to get your attack bonus. For a ranger, he should get a basic +3 from his dex stat and at least another +2 from proficiency for using a bow. If he's the closest player to his target, the Prime Shot class feature gives him another +1 and if he's taken an expertise feat (which he should, asap) he gets another +1.

comment How Powerful is a Swordmage's Swordbond?
I would add that a magic weapon breaking happens SO rarely, that I'd find it reasonable and balanced for the player to break off a piece so he can recreate it later. Only mundane weapons ever really "break", though. Most players have a magic weapon after level ~2. Of course, if the magic weapon is ever disenchanted, so are all fragments.

comment How does resist all apply to an attack that deals two types of (non-combined) damage?
Quick question for clarification: are you treating damage rolls with different damage type modifiers (1d6 fire damage + 1d6 radiant damage) the same as damage rolls with different damage types (1d6 radiant and fire damage)?

This question doesn't really have a definitive answer, since it basically asks for a list of references. As such, it should probably be closed or reworded.

comment How do you measure time in Dungeons and Dragons 4th ed?
@UnknownGnome No, tabletop roleplaying usually doesn't run in real time. I honestly cannot tell if you're joking or not. If this wasn't what you were asking, I strongly recommend following Brian and Jonathan's advice and providing a bit more information and context in your question.
