I have been running role playing games now for about 4 or 5 years, and my system of choice by far is Savage Worlds. I've played in and run games using a number of others, but none I have used so far clicks quite so well. I enjoy running games far more than I do playing in them, and my greatest experience so far has been a long running zombie apocalypse game that recently concluded.

I currently run several games - A Deadlands Reloaded campaign, a Hellfrost campaign, and I am just gearing up to start something using Unknown Armies, a completely new system to me.

comment How do I deal with Messiah Complex Players?
An additional comment - another thing to be aware of is that this type of play tends to favour players who are naturally good with words. You need to be careful in these situations that players are roleplaying the (lack of) social skills of their characters appropriately.

'if the PCs find the right leverage' is really important here. It is very easy to let this kind of play dominate a story, turning every problem faced into one with a solution where the PCs manage to talk then NPCs around, no matter what the situation. You have to keep in mind at all times that the PCs must have appropriate leverage in order to persuade/intimidate/taunt the NPCs into changing their mind about whatever. Without that leverage though, it is simply not possible

comment Is repeated playing the only way to test system balance?
This varies hugely according to the system, so I'm going to tag this Savage Words, even though you say what you are running is a homebrew variant

comment What is the “average human” stat for Savage Worlds?
It might also be worth making it a bit clearer in your answer that the figures you state (which I agree with) are for Extras, and that the situation for PCs is different as they are Wild Cards

comment What is the “average human” stat for Savage Worlds?
The age of a question on this site is completely and totally irrelevant, so there's no need to draw attention to it in your answer. As long as you feel your answer adds something that none of the others do, you should give it no matter how old a question is

comment How to play a published adventure solo?
the problem with widening it like that is that the answers you get are very likely to be less detailed and useful to the individual use cases. In general we discourage questions from being unnecessarily broad precisely for this reason. I would also argue that the two system you have mentioned are sufficiently different that an approach is unlikely to work well for both

based on the answer given by @Zadmar, including official sources I'm afraid this looks like it is incorrect

comment How do chases work when multiple characters are involved on both sides?
I personally don't see why this can't work with the narrative and mechanical aspects in the same question. Where the two are so closely intertwined, as appears to be the case with this system, it can be difficult and sometimes counterproductive to try a split them up

:) just a note for the reason for our edit - the site encourages the answering of questions no matter how old they are if you think that your answer addresses the entire question and adds something that is missing from existing answers

comment What happens when you lose a Merit or Flaw's prerequisites?
Just because an answerer doesn't display that expertise, it doesn't mean that it isn't the site's expectation :)

Just a quick comment - as this site expects questions to be answered by experts, I wouldn't worry too much about whether your question makes complete sense to people who don't run/play WoD or VtM

do you have any experience with the specific system being asked about at all?

comment How to decide which of my intended classes to start as when multiclassing in D&D 5e?
Trying to cover all bases generally doesn't work very well on this site. Be specific to the particular problem you're asking for help with and you'll get much better answers

@Zsolt you might want to give this - apocalypse-world.com/forums/index.php?topic=4996.0 a glance if you haven't already seen it

@SevenSidedDie unfortunately I suspect the latter

+1 best answer for pointing out the link between fiction and moves, which is key to the way Dungeon World works.

comment Is 4th edition D&D compatible with 5th edition?
@Jason_c_o it's considered good practice to wait a while before accepting an answer to encourage others, in case someone comes up with something better

@Zsolt the thing is, someone else might come along and post an even better, more useful answer with information in you hadn't even dreamed would be necessary, so it's still worth waiting :o)

comment How rare are these miniature AD&D books?
Isn't there an issue with any answer being too localised though? It's going to depend massively on exactly where they are being sold as to how much they are worth.
