comment How to handle the party that doesn't trust you?
@pop009876: this is why it is important (particularly, but not only on a site like this) to distinguish between players and characters. If the players are all enjoying the conflict, then you can and should carry on. If it goes too far, either your and somebody else's character will leave the campaign (dead, arrested, whatever) - which creates lots of plot-hooks and allows the player to create a new character, either similar in concept to the old one or entirely different.

comment Is there any way to get more than one military promotion per term during character generation?
In the High Guard rules, there was exactly one form of Special Duty (I think it was Military Attache) that gave an 'extra' promotion. Don't know if that was carried forward in any way.

comment How do I deal with a member of my party who attacks me whenever I cast a spell?
Actually this could work in the specific situation: one character or the other will cease to be annoying. But the player will presumably roll up another character; if it is 'quite alright for an evil character to kill another PC' the problem will repeat until the party contains only one evil character - who will then be arrested by the non-evil PCs if they value their own skins. A valuable lesson in why 'that's what my character would do' is not good enough, but probably not an enjoyable gaming session.

comment How long does a poisoned weapon last?
"Curare was used as a paralyzing poison by South American indigenous people. The prey was shot by arrows or blowgun darts dipped in curare, leading to asphyxiation owing to the inability of the victim's respiratory muscles to contract." (Wikipedia on curare). Research will turn up others.

Sorry, poisoned arrows/darts were widely used both in hunting and in war (though not so much in Europe).

Should "Before character creation" be "Just after character creation"?

comment Sacrificing character integrity for the gameplay?
If you consider 'always doing the right thing' is lawful-stupid, perhaps you don't fully understand paladins. But even then, confessing to being tricked will always bring a lighter sentence; the only reason to keep quiet, a nebulous 'party loyalty', has just been destroyed by the other characters.

comment Sacrificing character integrity for the gameplay?
@Philipp: That's dangerous if you haven't yet resolved the basic problem of different objectives: the rational thing for the paladin to do when he finds out is to inform the authorities.

comment Our DM is trying to kill us
+1 for the seventh paragraph. Even in Harry Potter, important characters sometimes die; you have to see beyond that.

comment Is it possible to betray the party in D&D?
"My guy syndrome" is precisely putting the character's interests ahead of the players' (note plural); as Quentin says, sometimes OK, sometimes not.

comment Easiest way to transition from Pathfinder to Dungeons and Dragons
@Ceribia: that question is about going from 3.5 to Pathfinder, which is not necessarily helpful if you want to go the other way.

+1 for the ***; I don't like the advancement system there at all.

comment Can a Minotaur wear (and benefit from) Horseshoes of Flame?
Bulls' or minotaur's hooves are not the same shape as horses', as the illustration shows. If you allow this, you might as well allow humans to use them.
