comment Why is there a saving throw for each ability score?
Thank you for the link, illusion spells were also on my list of "this is weird". Other links indicate that INT may be used for Psionics saves, but those actually seem like Wisdom saves to me. Also one of the links talks about Charisma being used to overcome "possession", but somehow "Dominate Person" does not qualify in the "Basic" printing.

Thank you, did not see playtest version, it's good to know they did print something that used them.

comment Does the Sleep spell use current or maximum hit points?
So basically, the closer you are to death, the easier you are to put to sleep, makes sense to me :)

+1 for Deities and mention of the Paizo PDF pricing. Many people have a second screen available that can host all of the PDFs. And $10 is a small price to pay.

comment Pitfalls to avoid when using kingdom building rules for the first time?
Yeah, just my example, 1,000gp gets you a magic "water spigot" that produces 20 gallons / minute or about 28k gallons / day. That's 4x better than a modern kitchen tap. Run full time is could provide drinking water for a full 30k person town. It basically lasts forever at a cost of 3sp per person in the town, that's a steal. Frankly, every wealthy person probably has one of these in their house, it's just expensive enough to be out of commoner reach, but just cheap enough that it's your first big purchase when you've "made it big".

comment Why do spontaneous casters lose out on a spell level compared to prepared casters?
@Tridus given the baseline and basically non-existent changes, this is a very narrow question. D&D3 was designed as TSR was bought out of bankruptcy between 1998 and 2000. There are three designers (Monte Cook, Johnathan Tweet, Skip Williams). None of them work for Wizards any more and two of them left before 3.5 ever hit the shelves. We're talking about one aspect of a decision made 15+ years ago by 3 guys in an era when game design was much less discussed.

comment Is this Amulet of Mage Armor and Shield legit according to the rules?
On top of this there are guidelines for Estimating Magic Item Values that explicitly call out armor enhancement bonuses. So he not missed the textbook example, he even missed the chart :)

Maybe they were intended to be balanced in 3.0, but that failed based on public opinion. Even with that failing, nothing was changed in 3.5 or PF. This really seems like sacred ground that no designer wants to touch.
