comment Who actually makes the Magic Books that boost stats?
@MatthewNajmon that Master Craftsman thing actually kind of scares me. For the cost of two feats and some skill points an expert craftsman could make most items in the book. While this might not seem like a great idea for a PC, it's an amazing road to wealth for a non-magical NPC.

Theoretically the DC is 5 + 17(CL) + 5 = 27. To be able to "take 10" on the item would require a base of 17. Remember this takes nearly 4 months of straight work, so you don't want to screw it up. 17 base seems achievable, 8 ranks + 3 class skill + 4 stats + 2 from Master Craftsman. That would be a lot earlier. That actually seems a little too early, but I can't find any other Caster Level restrictions...

@SeanDuggan "no bat dung for you" only works if no one has Eschew Materials. Given that it's a free feat for sorcerers, that probably won't work.

comment Does a “Page of Knowledge”-item exist for the Wilder class?
So you're just quoting the Psionics/Magic trade-off. My point is clearly that access to one Psi Power is probably worth more than access to a single Spell. There is no first level spell I can learn that will ever deal 16d6 damage. So regardless of the fact of "knowing" that spell, it does tend to become useless over time. Most Psi powers remain useful as the PC levels and that's the point I was trying to make.

comment Why create a new settlement using Ultimate Campaign rules?
Here is a link to some of the tweaks we proposed. Please note that we did not get to book three of the campaign as our DM disappeared, so these tweaks have no more play-testing than those in Ultimate Campaign. (docs.google.com/document/d/…)

comment What (trait, feat, class, etc) can reduce the penalty of using inappropriately sized weapons?
Frankly, this seems like a pretty reasonable feat idea. Definitely a "talk with your DM" ability.

comment Can a Cleric use a wand that's of a Domain spell?
I think the "anyone's domain" might be too broad given the whole issue with archetypes. Archetype are basically "specialists", "domains" & "bloodlines" for other classes and by that wording a Ranger whose archetype never gets spell access could still use wands. This sounds like the exact type of thing that needs an errata for clarification. This seems like a pretty obvious clarification

@Mala, I would call this "degrees of bad". Under the Kingmaker rules, forest hexes were literally useless. My party figured this out in 60 minutes or less. And of course, you start your Kingdom right next to the woods, so you're going to notice this right away. This wasn't just some math issue with failed exponential scaling, they wrote a system that starts failing you in the first couple of turns. The only explanation I can find for this is simply that they didn't test it out.

comment Size bonus to attack rolls?
@KRyan one of the funny things about entering the opponent's square is that it's not really clear what impact that has on flanking. Theoretically two Medium creatures could flank a Huge creature, but two Tiny creatures cannot flank a Medium creature because they don't occupy opposite squares. You have just "write it in" that they flank because they're as close as they can be :)
