comment Playing a loyal character without it being boring
After the leader gets killed (however that happens) let your character become fanatically dedicated to exacting revenge for their fallen lord.

comment How much detail should I include in medieval maps for players?
Interestingly enough, the first map (the road map) is a medieval copy of a Roman road map. That means the information was already centuries out of date when the map was made.

comment GM burn-out concerning worlds and systems
Play a game or two of Microscope with your gaming group. It's not actually a RPG (despite what people say). It's a fast game where everyone contributes simple ideas, but the result is an interesting story. Every time we've played it, I've been inspired to add things from the story to our RPG campaign (I'm the GM).

comment On Challenging D&D's Expectations on Death and Wealth accumulation
A lot of in game time will be spent digging graves, not real world time, so there's no reason for it to be boring. In the campaign I'm running, one of the characters always buries the dead; the player just says "I bury the bodies" after a fight, and that's that. (Except for the time he convinced the group to stay and bury bodies instead of flee from the reason the bodies were there.)
