comment Is negative energy (or chanelling it) necessarily evil?
This would be a great answer if the OP was asking only about spells. However, they're also asking about the Channel Energy supernatural ability. If you expand this answer to cover supernatural abilities that use negative energy as well as spells, it'd be better than it currently is.

comment How can market price of magic items be calculated from crafting price?
There are exceptions to this. Specifically, items that replicte the effects of spells with experience point components, focus components or expensive material components add a bit more to the market price without necessarily increasing the crafting price by half that - but I've not got my rules here to remember exactly what the changes are that need to be applied.

comment How do I learn to become a good GM?
Welcome to the site, @ZakK - Unfortunately, I feel obliged to point out that this isn't currently answering the question "How do I learn to be a good GM?" There's some decent advice here, but if you could tie it more clearly to the OP's question it'd garner a few more upvotes.

comment As a newbie DM, is it OK to borrow plots from MMOs for my game?
I've never had problems with basing settings and adventures on published material. The differences between the PCs and the original's protagonists, changes to the setting caused by the players interfering, and random die rolls tend to make the game diverge enough from the original's plot that everything turns out differently anyway. Those all depend on your playstyle and players, though, so YMMV.

comment Small ships and interplanetary communications
Keep in mind that a lot of the information in the rulebooks is for equipment player characters are likely to get their hands on; It's entirely possible there are other communications devices commonly used by background NPCs but that wouldn't have a useful place in any in-game situations the game's developers thought about. Also note the philosophy that the rules should only be consulted when an answer based on reasonable assumptions isn't readily forthcoming; Not everyone agrees with how to apply it, but it's useful in a lot of games.

comment Ring of the Ram and (Any) Golem 3.5 D&D
@WannabeCoder A "regular ranged attack" is exactly what they mean: An attack that has to be rolled and surpass the target's AC, as opposed to a ranged touch attack, which uses most of the same mechanics but ignores natural and armour bonuses to AC, and is therefore considered preferable in most circumstances.
