comment Does a mithral rose change your weapon to silver, or add it?
This answer doesn't address the player whose GM says "Your attacks are treated as if made using silver weapons. Since a thing composed of silver is not also composed of cold iron, your weapons doesn't count as cold iron for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction."

comment I failed to open a lock. Now what?
Mm, while these techniques work well with some campaigns and playstyles, there are other playstyles and campaigns they won't work quite so well with. Some discussion of the pros and cons of each one might help the OP in deciding whether and when to use them.

Clarified that this answer is at least a little different from the others.

@BraddSzonye You're conflating a number of decisions there, and disentangling and answering them all is too complex to do in just a comment. Not that I should answer in a comment at all, of course; The SE format doesn't handle followup questions well. I advise you ask another question.

comment How far does Sympathy reach?
Considering the narrative function of the spell might help with GM adjudication: This is the spell that, when you find a mysterious artefact glistening in the underground chamber you just fell into, provides the whispered voiceover going "Touch me... Touch me..." that only the audience can hear.

comment How to create a dungeon based on a realistic tomb, but still enjoyable to explore?
I'm not disputing that a college campus could make a fascinating dungeon, buried or not. It's just that the question was specifically about the kind of tomb that's constructed for corpses, and most college campuses aren't. Could you edit your answer to be more relevant to the question? (Incidentally, was Lurking Horror the one where the janitor polishing the floors would occasionally try to kill you?)

comment Can a Power Word spell be cast silently?
It's worth mentioning that, because such spells take large amounts of ink and multiple pages of spellbook to scribe down and require spell slots to cast instead of just saying the verbal component, some players (mine, at least) have concluded that there is more to a power word spell than just the utterance itself. Your mileage may vary, though.

Your college campus is a tomb?

@RobertF Also, just because the soul goes to an outer plane after death doesn't necessarily mean that it doesn't get all the loot it was buried with when it gets there. Different divine realms (afterlives) have different rules, depending on the will of the Power(s) that govern them.

comment How do spellbook tattoos combine with creatures that can change their shape?
If your GM does allow it because it's so cool, remember to make sure the spell that lets you change forms isn't one you need to be in a particular form to access.

comment How much should PCs be paid?
@Mouhgouda "skills can be rented" would be easily understood by a native speaker. It's not exactly idiomatic, but the meaning is clear.
