comment Would being stickler for material components break the game?
+1 for letting spell components be an element that drives the narrative. Running out of eggshells is an easily solvable problem in a farming hamlet; Running out in the depths of the Abyss is another matter altogether.

comment Class skill +3, when you have 1 rank in that skill
@Jim He has 1 rank in swim and a +3 bonus for it being a trained class skill. A +3 bonus is not +3 ranks; It's a +3 to the result when you make checks with the skill. His strength modifier applies a further bonus. The 3.X family of games is all about stacking different types of modifier; Skill rank is just one of these modifiers.

comment How to make a dense, immersive horror atmosphere?
This isn't enough for a full answer, but players who break immersion often do so deliberately, to keep things from getting too tense. Often, such players are more than willing to hold back for a session if you ask them, and explain that you want to maximize the tension and emotional impact of the session.

comment Can siblings be different metatypes in SR5?
Mixed parentage is definitely possible, but "mixed-breeds" don't exist; There's no such thing as a half-troll, half-dwarf, for instance. I think it matches the mother, from memory, but I don't have my books on me.

@link64 It is. There's nothing quite like discovering that the "easy money" freight run you picked up was actually an illegal combat drone.

comment Is it possible for a wizard to change the spells in her spellbook?
+1 for making the key point that there is no limit to the number of spells you can learn at any level. (I kind of feel like it deserves to be in giant bold letters.) This is in many ways a return to how things worked in the days before 4th edition, where power-hungry wizards greedily sought to claim and hoard as many spellbooks as they could, and the greatest strength, boast, and legacy of a mage was the size of his library.

comment pathfinder: how to handle evil actions
Yeah, it's important that each group comes to a consensus of what Lawful and Chaotic mean in their campaign, because the definitions in Pathfinder aren't really clear.

comment pathfinder: how to handle evil actions
+1 for asking the player what he thinks is happening. We as humans have subjective views of morality and ethics; D&D requires that an objective standard exist for its alignment rules to function as written. These occasionally come into conflict - working out where the conflict lies is the first step.

comment How to deal with combats where the enemies cannot damage the PCs?
@ConorPender The reason I mention them is that I suspect you might not have considered the full scope of possible ways they could be applied to your situation. The great thing about Numenera is that GM intrusions can plausibly do anything. (This is largely due to the presence of ciphers and other common reality-bending elements in the setting.) Intrusions allow you to alter any situation, in any way imaginable, at a moment's notice; They are an incredibly powerful and versatile tool whose only limit is what players allow.

There's no experience reward for winning fights in Numenera. Experience points are granted when the PCs make discoveries or recover useful ancient technology, or given to the players as compensation for the GM suddenly introducing weird and wonderful complications to situations.

comment What are the limits of Mage's Magnificent Mansions?
Note that focus components aren't consumed during casting, so theoretically, after the initial start-up cost, each subsequent casting would be free of any monetary cost.
