How can I deal with players who are reluctant to spend resources? I do this all the time, both with tabletop and computer-based RPGs. I find the only thing that makes me spend "consumables" (be they meta or physical items) is necessity, or the knowledge that they're easy to come by (or cheap). Increase the difficulty of the game, or make the resources more readily available. |

Why can't a Cleric use a sling? @JonHopkins I don't know much about D&D, but in RuneQuest II a sling is classed as a piercing weapon for the purpose of special and critical hit bonuses. |

How does rolling two dice and taking the highest affect the average outcome? I almost feel this should be in math.stackexchange.com :) |

What are the main differences and similarities between Pathfinder and RuneQuest? Excellent reply, thanks. @ErikSchmidt fortunately, our GM allows us to have a good working relationship with the Gods... ;) |

Dealing with a problem player not playing to their character aspects +1 for harsh reality tactics. +1 for "sparkly vampire" syndrome. +1 for common sense and +1 for an awesome post. I have an awesome GM, but if he died or something, I'd love to have you as my new one! |

How can I prevent a TPK without obvious Deus Ex Machina? Something very similar started in our RP last night. Only I suspect our GM is trying to wrap up the campaign, haha. Our party was ambushed by a large number of vampires and a vampire lord. We were already concerned about our lack of power and haven't rested for days (on account of us being in the middle of a massive battle). Runequest is fun, but we will all be dead soon... |

Where can I buy a massive D4? I see there are several shopping-related questions that are active on the site: rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/3246/… is just one. Perhaps I was just unlucky that I had to have mine ready by [CENSORED] [CENSORED] of [CENSORED] [CENSORED] [CENSORED]. |
