I'm a 21st Century Renaissance Man. I have interests ranging from RPGs to anime, and from gardening to cooking.
My Gamer Resume provides a history of my gaming experiences, including the major RPGs I've played and run.
I also run an online game, Let's Play an Interesting RPG, where we play a different RPG every week.

How can I stat up a troll in 5 different systems? Thanks! They're part of a larger project, and won't be published for another week or so; I'll post a link here when they go live. |

How can I stat up a troll in 5 different systems? I don't see how the underlying mechanics or scale are relevant to the stat block. If those mechanics end up with an attack roll of "+14 vs AC" in D&D 4E, "+12 vs AC" in Pathfinder, "+2 vs Physical defenses" in FATE, and "2d6 vs TN4" in Shadowrun, why can't those be on the same line in a stat block? |

How do I represent a warlock with a background in thievery? Thanks for the suggestion! Where can the Guttersnipe theme be obtained? |

What online chat or chat-like resource will work for my closed game? mibbit.com is a free, web-based IRC client. Go to mibbit.com, select one of the servers, and create a room. The otherworlders.net server is very RPG-friendly. |

How can a GM aid switching between the immersion and the meta level? Fully appreciated. :-) I'm operating under the assumption that the new group won't respond to "elegant" in the sense of "fluid and unnoticeable" transitions; the players need explicit training. |

How do I make players more comfortable in an unusual historical setting? You're very welcome! Thanks for choosing my answer. :-) |

How do you encourage the use of lesser trained skills in a skill challenge? One other thing: if the other players are glaring at you because you've introduced the possibility of failure, your group has larger issues. |

How do you encourage the use of lesser trained skills in a skill challenge? OK, you've built a specialized character who is extremely good at one skill, and good at several others. My point stands, though. ;-) That is the tradeoff of specializing so much in Perception. |

Does a monster knowledge check allow the character to learn everything about a monster's powers? Absolutely agreed! |
