RPG player, enthusiast, and writer. Currently playing a hacked version of Apocalypse World generated from a Universalis session. So, clearly a fan of indie games.

comment How to guide a new DM through his first game (as an experienced DM turned player)?
Many times amen - every DM needs to develop their own style, and they can only get so much from advice. And unsolicited advice often feels like a vote of no-confidence.

comment Group social issues when roleplaying as the opposite gender
I get what your point is, but I'd definitely caution against trying to 'not act your real gender' by making sure you have a maximally gender stereotypical character. Playing a caricature in a mixed gender group gets awkward too.

comment How would I go about publishing the RPGs I've created?
If you're interested in alternative publishing methods, there have been some pretty successful kickstarter.com campaigns for indie rpgs.

comment How can you translate Rashomon/The Rashomon Job into a one-off-game?
@BrianBallsun-Stanton That seems like it would work really well, particularly with donjon (haven't played either game, but did some googling). I kind of want try it out now.

comment What can I have the players do in my surreal horror scenario?
+1 for Silent Hill! While the games are more time-consuming, they'd probably be a better source on how to structure that kind of story as an interactive set of tasks/leads (also the games are just awesome :p)

comment What game elements are essential for a playtest?
@user867 Definitely, in terms of what makes a worthwhile game, but I was more trying to define 'mechanically complete' than 'good'--though I did throw in the note about having unique qualities.
