comment Balancing character intelligence against players wits
1) Are the players having fun? 2) You say "GREEN's character needs to figure this one out himself", but not it's player? Then could you just have GREEN's character figure out the answer, even if BLUE's player found it?

...which should probably be an answer rather than extensive comments. I'll proceed to do that.

comment Are there androids in Shadowrun?
@SevenSidedDie What I meant (oh, the limitations of written text) was that the question asks for androids (aka humanoid robots) and then proceed to ask about AI. That's several questions. Is there androids/humanoid robots? Yes. Are there ways to put AI in androids? Yes. Has it been done in cannon? No.

comment When Does the Blood Arcanist Gain the Arcanist Exploit Class Feature?
Not sure the Blood Arcanist is considered as losing the Arcanist Exploit class feature. It is modified, but he technically still has the feature.

What I meant was that the question is "Are there androids" and androids and AI are two very different things

There are two questions here. It hasn't happened in canon (not that I know of), but it is definitely technologically possible (my players did it). You might also want to define "android". Is a bipedal drone an android only if it has AI? What about a bipedal drone running on autosofts?

Ok, that's what I understood, but it felt so... limited that I thought maybe I was misunderstanding something

Fair point; I guess I shouldn't have insisted so much on stress. Follow-up question it is, then!

comment Aspects implying Resistance/Immunity
Thanks! I read the Superman example a long time ago, but totally forgot about it. One additional question if I may: how would you do for effects that do more than stress/consequence? For example, Character A is a psyker and is tring to read Character B's mind. Character B has an Aspect mentioning his immunity (or resistance) to mind reading. Does it simply not work, or should Character B use a Fate Point?

Just a sidenote regarding the Aspect naming: when asking questions here, I try to use Aspects that convey my point veeery explicitly, in order to avoid answers focusing on the wrong thing ;) the actual Aspects we use in game might not be explicit enough

comment Do birds cry? Or, how to play interactions with intelligent non-humanoid beings
Disney/Pixar/Ghibli can provide a lot of inspiration

comment Does Pathfinder significantly fix known problems with the Monk class?
The upcoming Brawler is also a surprisingly good candidate. It is the first time I played an unarmed character that actually felt dangerous - I even used one as a single Boss NPC and almost caused a TPK

comment How to respond to “stress tracks / narrative consequences are arbitrary”?
I agree that I actually wouldn't have given a consequence in that situation; the character is bleeding but it will be fine and forgotten by the next scene

I haven't read the book yet, unfortunately, but that quote seems to mean that you can learn non-adept metamagic abilities, not just have them all for free

comment Is there any good reason not to kick people?
I was actually hoping for some kind of errata, adding a disadvantage or something to the maneuver (for example making the character easier to hit until his next action or something)

Actually Boxing says - as for every other martial art with the same kind of advantage - "+1 DV on Unarmed Attacks", so it technically applies to every kind of attack. We could argue that boxers don't kick (legit) argument, but then 1 - we enter the realm of arguing what Martial Art can do what, and that's very subjective, and 2 - it would make Boxing quite a bad martial art considering that as written, Kick Attack is such a great maneuver (a bonus with absolutely no disadvantage, unlike every other maneuvers).

comment Is there any good reason not to kick people?
Hmmm... I don't see how that's right actually. Kick Attack gives the same bonus (+1 Reach) no matters what martial art the character does, it stacks with Martial Arts advantages, and it is available to every martial art. Technically, a boxer using Kick Attack is just straight better than a boxer who doesn't. We could argue that from a roleplaying perspective a boxer should not be able to use Kick Attacks, but that was not my question.

+1 for a Fate answer that is not "You don't understand Fate this is not how it works"

comment How do I rein in a character's backstory without discouraging the player?
I've always thought of a vendetta as somewhat reciprocal. Can you have a vendetta against someone who have no idea you even exist?

comment How effective are foreshadowing cutscenes that PCs would be unaware of?
I would add "keep it short". A 5mn cutscene is a terrible idea. A short sentence such as "Meanwhile, somewhere else, a shadowy figure observes the whole scene through a crystal ball. 'So you are still alive... I see...' Now, back to you" works well.
