comment How far can characters see?
The rules-as-written are nonsense. While it might happen to work at certain distances the basic problem is that it scales very differently than reality. If you can just see a human at 1km you'll see an elephant at 2km. RAW means it's 324 harder, reality is that it's about a wash.

comment How can player characters restore a mostly-burned note?
I'm warning that the PCs might find a way to thwart his plans to burn the note in the first place and giving an example of how things can go wrong.

comment Why is the full plate armor penalty only -6 when plate arms are at -7?
I would think plate arms without the rest of the armor would be more of an inconvenience as they aren't being supported by the main part of the armor.

comment How can I keep the Tarrasque “dead”?
You're simply providing the numbers behind the tactics I was suggesting. Note that you can do it with fewer clerics because they can go back for another wave. You'll go through a LOT of Allips but one cleric could do it.

@MatthewNajmon Again, there is magic that can protect you.

@KRyan but when you hit that medium you'll be above Mach 1 and slowed down to it's speed. Thus you'll go supersonic for a little bit.

@JonathanHobbs I would not apply the D&D terminal velocity while in outer space. Terminal velocity implies a medium that imposes drag.

comment Can we add trains in D&D without breaking the world
@Ben-Jamin You can buy and feed a LOT of horses for the cost of one golem. I don't think you can run trains through uncivilized land, period--somebody is going to do something to your track.
