They get sidetracked by the scenery. They quickly figured out there was no way they were getting the loot but they still spent half a session goofing off with the living objects only teleporter in a shaft.

comment Dealing with extreme luck
You're assuming there's no way to cheat at rolling. Back in college there was a RISK game where I realized my opponent was definitely cheating (I had had suspicions before and worked out the math--he was several standard deviations out.) I started rolling where everyone else but him could see--and he refused to play. Admittedly that's d6s rather than d20s but I've seen people who seem to roll high too much even with a d20.

comment Good Single Word Instruction for “Command” Spell
@Undreren: Of course but it simply takes one target out for a round, there are other ways of accomplishing that. An innovative use of the spell will get you a greater benefit than that.

While I have seen "suicide" used as a verb the book gives the target the benefit of the doubt in such situations. Thus the day I used "vault" on a guy next to a bridge railing shouldn't have worked.

comment How can I get a character with the lowest hit points possible?
@JeorMattan: You said the hit point losses weren't limited to going below 1hp/die, but you have the low Con in that and that one is thus limited.

You can't go below 1hp/die with low Con.

@JonathanHobbs: Exactly. I thought that obvious enough I didn't bother to spell it out.

comment Can an undead cleric resurrect himself?
@BESW: I wouldn't have the spell fizzle when the delay period started, but rather when the main spell went off. To interpret it at the start results in the opposite problem--a spell goes off on a clearly invalid target that was valid when it was cast.

comment How does acquiring a template that changes hit dice affect pre-existing hit points?
I favor the +2 approach. If you were tough before you're still tough.

@Ben-Jamin: I don't see where your original comment said the backup could be a blessed book.
