I'm a game designer that's been playing tabletop games since the early '00s. Most of my experience is with the D&D 3/3.5/Pathfinder ruleset, but I've been branching out more in the past few years.

I got ahold of a copy of the SBG, and I added in a summary of what it says to this answer, to make it a bit more complete.

The first option is pretty reasonable, but will need a LOT of castings of Soften Stone and Earth and Stone Shape to get a reasonable amount of space. The second option is also pretty good, though it does have the issue that the structure is vulnerable to Dispel Magic, since Transmute Mud to Rock is permanent, rather than instantaneous.

comment Using AnyDice to determine the odds of getting a specific number sequence on multiple dice
Okay, but three things; First, Multinomial[1,2,1]*1/216 = 1/18, not 1/12, according to w|a. Second, how do you generalize that to other dice combinations? For example, what would the correct formula be for (1,2,3,4)? Or (1,3,3,3)? You say to use the multinomial coefficient, but you don't really say how to use it. Third, if you're suggesting to use w|a for these calculations, you should give the correct w|a format in your answer.

Your #1 makes sense, but your #2 makes less sense. How do you go from P(1,2,2,3) to MultinomialCoefficient(4 choose 1,2,1)*1/216? How would you phrase that generically so that it could be used for other combinations of numbers? Also, if I plug "MultinomialCoefficient(4 choose 1,2,1)*1/216" into Wolfram Alpha, it gives me 35/72, not 1/12 as you say here. Is it more complicated than just copying the formula into the website?

Could you link to the think tank thread that you pulled these numbers from? I'd be interested in seeing the source, as well as the graphs.

comment How do Mythic Spells known interact with classes that can retrain spells known?
The text you quote says that, to cast a mythic spell, you cast the regular spell and then spend a point to make it mythic. The section you bold is a clarification, which explains an implication of the first sentence. In addition, the section you bold says clearly that you have to "prepare the non-mythic version", not that you can cast the mythic version without having the non-mythic version prepared.

Wouldn't this also happen with the core Sorcerer's spell retraining ability?
