I'm a game designer that's been playing tabletop games since the early '00s. Most of my experience is with the D&D 3/3.5/Pathfinder ruleset, but I've bee branching out more in the past few years.

How are you doing stats? Are you doing the normal point buy with your wolf racial stat bonuses (+2 Str, +4 Dex, +4 Con, +2 Wis, -2 Cha), or something different?

Also, do you know the general power level of the game? I'm guessing that since it's prehistoric, that weapons are going to be crappier, or at least limited to the ones made of wood and bone. Is magic similarly limited? You might be able to be a good battlefield control druid, since you get a +2 to Wisdom.

If you're an awakened wolf with an LA of 2, wouldn't that make you ECL 6? Wolves have base HD of 2, Awaken gives you +2 HD, and then the LA makes 6. Do you know how the DM determined that LA? I can't find anything in the wolf's description that would warrant even a +1 LA. Are you using the normal wolf stats?

I don't think I've ever seen someone actually take an armour proficiency feat in anything but the most esoteric of builds. It may be a cost, but it's a cost that's so rarely paid that it doesn't really count when talking about the general case. It's very common for a character who wants to use heavy armour to already have proficiency, but it's relatively rare for someone to take that particular trait.

comment What CR adjustment should I make for Divine Rank 0
The reason that I haven't made an answer of my own is that there are other answers that say everything that I would want to say anyway.

I don't disagree with the CR mechanic altogether. I think CR is just fine as a guideline for how difficult a fight will be. My -1 is because the way that you're applying the rules you quote is adding way too much CR to a creature. Those rules are terrible at computing a reasonable CR. Like many of the things in Savage Species, you need to apply the rules carefully, and make sure that they make sense and play well before you actually run with them. Not only that, but those rules were designed for advancing monsters by hit dice, not applying templates.

-1: Like what Starwed said, this is adding way too much CR. As an example: Take a regular Magmin, CR 3. Which is a tougher fight: A Magmin with SR 32 and immunity to Mind Effecting, or two regular Magmins? Both have the same ECL, based on your numbers, but two Magmins are going to be a much harder fight than one with a couple immunities.

I'm not convinced that that was what he was implying. If he comes back and clarifies, then I'd reverse my -1, but I don't want to do that if I don't know what his intention was.
