I'm a ruleslawyer from 3.5 D&D, but I've since branched out into many other systems. I currently play Pathfinder for the most part.
I believe that the GM's first job should be to know the rules. Games are much more fun when rules are selectively ignored or fudged, but it's important to know the implications of rules changes before making them.

Can a Warlock use his Eldritch blast when paralyzed? I'd like to add a rules reference here. Complete Arcane, page 7 "all invocations, including eldritch blast, have a somatic component", and "unlike other spell-like abilities, invocations are subject to arcane spell failure chance". |

Do Sleeping or Otherwise Helpless Targets Get Reflex Saves in 3rd Edition D&D? Could you provide a page reference and quote here? The only section on saves that I can find in the 3.5 PHB is on page 136, and it doesn't mention anything there about not getting reflex saves while flat-footed. |

In a high fantasy setting, what changes when you restrict player magical item purchases? What system do you use in that sword and sorcery campaign? |

In a high fantasy setting, what changes when you restrict player magical item purchases? Changed the phrasing of the question to hopefully be less argumentative. |

Is two-weapon fighting only as a full-round action balanced versus fighting with a two-handed weapon? @mxyzplk While it's certainly true that players don't necessarily get "X GP" to spend on something, in games where players use the loot that they find it's typically easier to get one powerful weapon than two. In addition, in games where players take turns pulling magic items from the loot pile, the TWF needs two pulls to get his sweet new swords, while the THF only needs one pull, leaving the other open for whatever other loot he wants. No matter how players get their equipment, two weapons is more effort/resources than one. |

What prestige class combines monk abilities and sneak attack? You didn't note the text that contains the important detail in this feat: "If you have levels in Rogue and Monk, those levels stack for the purpose of determining your unarmed strike damage." Complete Adventurer page 106. |

Who actually makes the Magic Books that boost stats? Are you sure about that cost? There's nothing in the tome description that says you need those diamonds. By my calculations, it costs 65625 to craft one of these books, not 131125. |

How do I make weather an important part of the game? While Fire descriptor spells do not automatically set fire to flammable things in the area, Fireball specifically does: "The fireball sets fire to combustibles" d20srd.org/srd/spells/fireball.htm |
