Roleplayer, lapsed blogger, and full-time dad.

Have been playing and GMing D&Ds from B/X to D&D 5e. Becoming a fan of indie games and the OSR in the mid 2000s expanded my horizons for both trad and indie games. Fond of GMless and short-form games that suit a busy schedule and are good for enticing non-gamers into the hobby.

comment Can I legally obtain AD&D 2nd core rulebook in a digital form?
The legal point is crucial because the question is whether a legal digital option exists. Answering the question is the point of this site, and this isn't supplying a legal option. If you think it should be deleted then you can do that. For my part I'd rather downvote it for not being useful for this question. (I'm only complicit in the civil violation—not crime—if I use it.)

comment Trying to fix my DM mistakes by starting a new campaign
The history of "murder your darlings" is a bit inaccurate: it's a quote from a 1913 writing advice book by Arthur Quiller-Couch, and wasn't intended for situations where overseers will cut your favourite bits. Rather its intent is internal: avoid getting overly sentimental about details (or kill them when you do) because attachment blinds us to how they're probably making the overall project worse. But as always, it's great advice. :)

Ah, then it's maybe 1489 DR. (The thing about 5e's Realms is that WotC wants to support all eras of play, pre- and post-Spellplague, so a question about 5e's Forgotten Realms doesn't equal a specific year.)

That means it's not likely to disappear soon, yes. But it's very much not a legal digital version of the books (I'm not a lawyer either, but I have ~15 years of copyright layman experience), which is what this question is asking about.

"there's a reason none of us are trusted to make life-or-death decisions in the real world." We aren't?

tag lines like "hope this helps" go without saying: it's a help site

made system-agnostic but mentions game for context, per comments; fix PC/player distinctions; punc and caps

The critical missing detail: what year is it in your Forgotten Realms game?
