Roleplayer, lapsed blogger, and full-time dad.

Started playing with AD&D 1e and GMing with AD&D 2e. Ran D&D 3.x, 4e briefly, then became a fan of indie games and the OSR. Particularly fond of GMless and short-form games because they suit a busy schedule and are good for enticing non-gamers into the hobby.

We don't use code formatting for game terms now. Discussion: http://meta.rpg.stackexchange.com/questions/1483/is-there-a-functional-purpose-to-putting-things-in-code-text-here

comment How similar is Star Wars Saga to DnD 4th edition?
From OpaCitiZen's answer to "What are the differences between Star Wars Revised Edition and Star Wars Saga Edition mechanically?", this review of Saga Edition devotes a lot of text to comparisons with D&D 4e. (Someone more familiar than I with SW:SE and D&D 4e want to use that link as part of their answer?)

Related (but definitely not duplicate): What is the closest system to Star Wars Saga edition that's still in print?

comment Games with mechanics for dreams
This is not an exact duplicate. This question is asking for games with dream mechanics for design research, not for a game to use to play Inception. Note that most of the answers to the other question do not answer this one's core request for dream mechanics.

comment Any GM headaches or canon reasons not to let resurrected PCs fight their reanimated corpses?
That amounts to "a wizard did it", which they already know they can do. As the question says, they're looking for alternatives before they fall back on that.

comment Can Arcane Powers be used with double action?
That probably depends strongly on the particular setting. If magic is verbal- or brain-only, then it would make sense; if it were a whole-body channeling thing though, then you'd need two whole bodies.

comment Is there a working adaptation of Skyrim's Dragon Shouts to DnD3.x?
Looking for fan-made stuff set in Tamriel is almost always going to work better by searching for "elder scrolls" or "TES", than "Tamriel" or the names of any of the games.
