Making magic “magical” Thanks. I think you've got some insight there in #2 where you indicate that it really helps to maintain consistency where there's either a single system of magic. |

Making magic “magical” Thanks. I think, along with @nvoigt above you've drawn my attention to something that I should have realized about the link between a game system for magic that the players understand and inevitable link to them transferring that to magic being a manifestation of that game system (and thus maths/science rather than magic). Unknown armies seems to work well for this as there's an implicit assumption that the players probably don't know how the system works. |

Making magic “magical” Hi, thanks for the response. I think you've hit the nail on the head where you draw a relationship between an openly available/viewable system and an inevitable movement towards magic being science/maths. I think this is where the tension for #3 originates as it encourages more players to be aware of the system (if they have to be to play their characters). |

Making magic “magical” Hi, thanks for the comments. I've edited the question to try and make it a bit more clear about what I meant with point #2. |

Can circumstances change a skill's key ability score? A difference of 6-7 isn't easily attained in 3.5. It's certainly possible but not easy. However, it's a fair point that stat modifiers can make a reasonable difference at lower levels. |

How much does it cost to build or rent a building? Ah - it may well be. I've only ever skim-read it and that a long while ago... |

How much does it cost to build or rent a building? One of the things to consider beyond the raw cost of building something is the cost of obtaining the land and permission to build. This is one of those areas you can exploit to form an adventure hook "Of course you can build on my land. However, I have this little problem..." or use to increase the cost of building in particular areas. |

Where can I find a non-Lovecraftian medieval religious horror game that will inspire dread in my players? Might be worth taking a look at the old World of Darkness historical settings as they seem to hit pretty close to the mark you want. In particular Dark Ages Fae or Dark Ages Vampire. Neither are likely to be 100% what you want but they both seem to share a lot of elements of what you are looking for. |

What skills would a DFRPG PC roll when playing a video game? I think this is a good approach. If such themes are going to recur in your game often and be important, it might be worth adding some specific skills - given the relatively sensible length of the existing skill list in FATE/DFRPG it's relatively easy to slot more in without making it unwieldy. |

Running a game with intentionally “over-powered” PCs I disagree here - I think that skills and powers can be used in all three of the above scenarios but require more thought than doing so in a standard fight. But it does depend a lot on how you set things up and how you run things. |

Running a game with intentionally “over-powered” PCs If you could give the community a bit more idea of what you'd like from the modules (e.g. political intrigue, dungeon-bashing, sandbox kingdom building) I'm sure there's plenty of folks here who can point you in the direction of a tonne of material. |

Helpless opponent & Coup de Grace I can see where you're going here Michael but Coup de Grace is a specific mechanic in 3.5e and I think that Zaniel wanted help with the technical details of that rule. That said - your solution may offer what Zaniel wants if the CdG rules don't |
