I am an avid RP and tabletop gamer, currently designing a tabletop skirmish game of my own. It is a hobby of mine to sit down with a core book for a game and decipher its system.

This is closest to my GM style, especially because I know I'll have to improv something later that I might not have in the data.

I just used the BattleMech Designer program for that. And those charts are usually derived from anything from algebra (for mech tonnage) to calculus (how tall your mech is, the angle of LoS and height of target or structures in between)

The primary thing that makes this useful is that it's not cloud-based. However, it's not free for anything but the core stuff so if it's not basic fantasy names you lose out.

Possibly the "Moment of Truth" for e-books and my preferences is knowing that I can either have the text bigger than size 4 or see the whole page.

Studies have shown that if you use different colored paper for different subjects your recollection is more easily triggered.

Golden point: If the e-book is resource heavy. One PDF I have takes a full 5 to 10 seconds to load a page, which when you're just scanning or comparing two pages feels like eternity.

+1 for the utility of e-books being distracting.

+1 for the pages and sharing. Typically my players don't have devices with them at game, and definitely don't spring for a game they rely on me to run.

Actually this interests me more in how larger creatures might AoO other larger creatures
