comment Dice Notation - Dice that start at 0
@RobStarling You might want to add that information to the answer directly.

comment Why all the dice?
@DaveMG This could be a valid question. Currently this is a trivia question, to make it more objective pick two systems that you know as an example and ask why (example) DnD use D20 and Gurps use 3d6 for their skills, then generalize from that. Also skip the "just curios" part.

comment Which systems can be considered balanced? How to predict a fair fight?
You might rethink the approach. Unfair fights are a very interesting thing. Have your not-so-combat characters use their other skills to overcome problems. You can design encounters in a way that allows the players braintime before they meet the enemy and turn the odds to their favor. Or they die. Even in DSA thats possible.

comment Arch-enemy or situational obstacle?
+1 for they maybe should let the villain win. I'm going to use that in my next campaign.

comment Arch-enemy or situational obstacle?
That usually decreases PC screentime, I wouldn't do that.

comment Is there a good way to distribute pregenerated characters?
I'd add "or print the char out a second time" to the last sentence, else its exactly what I would say :)
